Trivia: The picture on the computer of the hive looks like an upside down umbrella and the name of the corporation who own the hive is ... the Umbrella corporation.
Trivia: The studio and producer Joel Silver reportedly called for major re-writes of the script shortly before shooting began. Many of the actors had signed up based on the original script, titled "Chimera", which contained far less violence and supernatural elements, and instead was a psychological drama about what happens to a salvage crew when they are stranded in the middle of the ocean. Much of the cast wasn't informed that the script had been almost completely altered into a more generic supernatural-horror/slasher film until just before they showed up to begin filming, leaving many of them disheartened and disgruntled.
Trivia: At the end of the film, Rush is killed by Blade, who is hiding behind the curtain at a peep-show booth. In the 1996 film "The Crow: City of Angels", the lead character Ashe surprises a villain in the same manner. Both films were written by David S. Goyer. Goyer had disowned "The Crow: City of Angels" however, due to studio-enforced edits, and decided to re-use the scene in this film.
Trivia: When Jimmy & Jordan are talking about their plans for their last night together, Jimmy says that he and Nick are having cocktails with their psych. prof. and that Jordan could come too. She says no and "call me later and if not I guess I'll just meet you at the party." This is what we hear, but what her mouth really said was, "Just call me later and I'll see if I can get reservations at [unclear restaurant name]. What she really said can be found in the deleted scenes. (00:05:40)
Trivia: All the special effects in this movie were done by Tom Savini, who also plays a Utah detective.
Trivia: When they are on the train going to see the family of the girl who's eyes where donated, the head of a woman can be seen in the window of the train as it passes through the tunnel, but she has no body, allowing you to see the seat. (01:01:05)
Trivia: When Kate and Sasha are talking and Kate says "Please, you have to have some idea what this means.". At that time you can see an alien looking person moving reflected in the walls. It moves into view, stops for a second and moves out of view again. This is not Kate because she is standing on the other side of the room. There is also a quiet sound effect as it shows itself. Trivia: In the scene where Wells asks Cooper to knock him out, Kevin McKidd throws a stage punch the first time, but misjudges the distance of the second and catches Sean Pertwee on the nose. Pertwee didn't feel the punch however as he really was drunk for that scene. This is all talked through on the DVD.
Trivia: If a tarantula were to ever grow to the gargantuan size that it does in this film, it would resemble a huge furball. The filmmakers were aware of this, but for obvious reasons decided to tone down the amount of hair. (00:56:35)
Trivia: When Claire is in the Captain's quarters and turns to see the dead Winters' lying in his bunk, two shots that follow show Olivia first turning away from Winters, then emerging from his room into the passageway. Both of these shots were filmed in reverse, then played backwards to make them look more eerie - note the odd movement of her hair, especially in the latter shot. (01:22:40)

Trivia: Like several other entries in the series, this film was not originally written as a "Hellraiser" sequel. Rather, another script was rewritten to incorporate Pinhead, the puzzle box and Kirtsty Cotton.
