Factual error: When Johnny Hallyday goes into the bakery to buy bread, the price in the subtitle is translated as 3 francs, rather than 3 euros. At the old exchange rate, 3 francs were the equivalent of about 50 US cents -- not nearly enough for a baguette.
Continuity mistake: When Watson is walking up to the Black Tor, he is seen walking in torrential rain. But when he arrives at the top, the rain has stopped, and both his hair and clothes are completely dry.
Deliberate mistake: When Okwe pulls the heart out of the blocked toilet, the water doesn't go out of the toilet. (00:07:50)
Factual error: One of the members of the orchestra is reading off sheet music held together by sticky tape, which is an anachronism.
Factual error: Throughout the film the two men wear modern rubber soled Army boots, not leather soled as they would have been at the time - particularly noticeable when they are trying to sleep in the woods, and also when they cut the telephone wires.
Continuity mistake: When the women ride by on horseback in the woods, once they pass the men, they've switched sides. (01:05:38)
Factual error: In the first scene, Iraq invades Kuwait City and the Kuwaitis flee from the theater into a sunny backdrop. The problem is that the invasion actually took place at 1:00AM Gulf time. I don't think there are many movie theaters open at 1:00 in the morning, and I don't think it's sunny then either.
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie Bernadette is flirting with some boys outside the orphanage. Seen from behind the boys are standing right next to the gate pillar, seen from the front about two meters away. (00:10:10)
Continuity mistake: Catherine's black notebook and pen suddenly appear on the aeroplane armrest between shots, after her tape player clicks. (00:10:00)
Other mistake: In the second scene where the Powerpuff Girls are on TV, Campbell Scott puts in a tape that has an old Disney sticker on the side. However, when the movie begins the Powerpuff Girls played, which is not Disney.
Visible crew/equipment: When Benoît Brière is speaking with a crying girl in the forest, you can see many people dressed in modern clothes hiding in the background.
Continuity mistake: When Valentin is arrested at the tea-house, Jane gives him the necklace that the healer gave her. When she gets to the saint's shrine, the next day, she is wearing the necklace again.
Continuity mistake: When the security guard steals the hitman's bag, he tosses it into his car and takes off. But when the interior shot of the bag being thrown in is shown, it is a leather seat and the floormat has a Thunderbird logo. The security guard was driving a lime green Yugo, not a T-Bird.
Continuity mistake: When Mercker are in the boxing ring you see him put his walkie talkie in his belt. Then it cuts to a new shot and he puts it in his belt again. (01:03:50)
Factual error: Max and his family listen to a radio broadcast announcing the terms of the Versailles Treaty in Germany in 1919. Radio broadcasting first began in the United States in 1920 and began in Germany in 1923. Also, the radio they are listening to is a "cathedral" type that was not manufactured until the 1930s.
Continuity mistake: At the very end when the Nicklebys are confronting their Uncle Ralph, at one point Ralph slumps down over his desk. He's off screen and you hear the thud of him falling, but the eyelines of the people on-screen don't change a bit; they continue looking slightly upward. You'd think if he was falling over they'd follow him down with their eyes and they'd move at least a little.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where sisters walk along the train track, a boom microphone is visible overhead. This is in the DVD version.
Continuity mistake: When the priest is waving the handkerchief, the fabric changes from covered in blood to spotless.
Continuity mistake: When Jack Friar is with Tyrone and Erin in the traffic jam on the freeway, he puts his red flashing light on top of his car and takes a detour on a dirt path. Shortly after, a motorcycle policeman pulls up beside him and Jack flashes his badge. The next shot is a view of the car from far away and the red light is no longer on the top of the car.
Factual error: When the Robinsons' vessel is caught in the storm, the ship has a full suit of sails set, none of them even reefed. No captain would hazard the masts of his ship in this manner. He would have all sails furled, with just enough of a storm sail set to keep the ship on course.
