Factual error: When the soldiers are bombing the camp site they only use grenade launchers and the explosions are huge, far too large for one grenade.
Plot hole: When Eldon checks out the address Van Meter gave him he finds where Orchard and Sidwell are living. All well and good, except: A) The utilities bill is in the names of Orchard and Sidwell, who are known wanted felons in L.A. and B) even more implausibly, the bill is in BOTH their names.
Continuity mistake: When Harry's guide is captured by the British troops, they flog him. In the very next scene his back shows no evidence of him ever being whipped.
Factual error: Sister Assumpta takes the book from the boys and puts it in a drawer of contraband in her desk. There is a shot of the inside of the drawer and you can see a Marvel GI Joe comic book. This film is set in the late 1970s, but the first issue of GI Joe was released in 1982.
Factual error: Chuck and Penny are seen drinking Rolling Rock beer in clear glass bottles. But Rolling Rock beer has always come in green glass bottles.
Continuity mistake: During the ice show Smoochy gets crowned by the fairy who flies in from above. Right before he sits down at the desk to read the "Smoochy Hits #1" issue of Variety, the crown falls off and rolls away across the ice. When he's sitting at the desk, the crown is back. (01:32:51)
Other mistake: In the Super Bowl, both end zones are painted with the Vikings logo (you can see the far end zone as they go to kick the game winning field goal). One end zone should bear the Bills' logo.
Continuity mistake: After his arrival at Hawaii Barry calls his sister from a phone booth to ask her for Lena's hotel and phone number. From the side we see two men standing next to him, but between shots these two men get replaced by two women. (01:01:35)
Factual error: In the scene where the Doyle family's story is broadcast on TV, locations are Irish, the channel's name is RTE. (Ireland's national TV station.) Ireland's first TV station was not installed until the mid sixties, ten years afterwards.
Continuity mistake: Clint Eastwood is viewing the security camera tape from the store on his boat. As Graciela arrives carrying a paper bag, the scarf covering her sweater changes position at least twice.
Continuity mistake: Throughout the movie Astrid's eyebrows change colour from a light brown to a dark brown.
Continuity mistake: In the third rendition of the story of what happened at Zhao, Nameless shows that his attack could have immense precision by throwing all the additional sticks in the air along with the white one. Not only does the white stick change trajectory during the scene changes, but at the end the additional sticks all seem to fly in from a barrel just out of sight instead of falling all around Nameless' sword.
Factual error: When the upset boyfriend ends up driving off the cliff, his car explodes into flames magically and the fire doesn't even start at the engine. The entire interior of the car is consumed and when the car crashes, its explosion is on par with a missile. The character, when seen next, doesn't have a burn on him at all ignoring the fact that there was no humanely possible way to survive that fall and explosion.
Factual error: The issue of "Guideposts" shown by Crane's interviewers is from the early '90s.
Factual error: In the evening check at the dormitory, when the girls are found missing, the nun calls Daisy Kalibil. In real life the 8-year-old Daisy was promised to a man named Kalibil whom she married later, but at that time she was still Daisy Craig. (00:31:20)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Joe Nast goes to the post office to get back the wedding invitations, Bertie invites him to come through the little window into the back to help her find them. As he crawls through he accidentally kicks the bell off the counter. However when the shot changes to the interior of the mail room, the bell is still on the counter. The DVD commentary states that this shot was done on a stage in a studio, and the former shot was an actual store. Jake Gyllenhaal admits to having purposefully tried to knock the bell off, so it seems that when the studio shot was being made this detail was forgotten, or it was shot beforehand.
Continuity mistake: Hadley is in the hospital and she is talking to Alicia. Later on in the scene Alicia goes home. Hadley's dad walks in and she makes him call Alicia to take back his promise. When he phones her it has only been like 2 minutes and Alicia is home from the hospital. How can this be.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Winnie and Jessie are going swimming, when Winnie takes off her dress, you see that her right foot was not completely out of the dress. Then in the next shot, you see Winnie jump in without moving her dress at all, and it is far away from her on the rock.

Continuity mistake: During the final pool sequences, there's a quick glimpse of the main character's left (broken) wrist. It's normally all purple and gross looking, but in a brief shot, you can see his left hand shooting the pool cue and there is no purple swelling.
