Other mistake: During the ending scene, when Samuel L. Jackson is walking away from the camera across the lawn, he passes directly between the platoon on the right practicing rifle drill, and the platoon leader giving them orders. Marines are taught to NEVER do this. It is called "breaking ranks", and a Colonel in the Marine Corps would have known this.
Other mistake: Early in the film, Valerie Barksdale (Hilary Swank) visits Annie Wilson (Cate Blanchett) for a psychic reading. Valerie has been severely beaten by her husband, and her badly black and blue eye is swollen shut. A day or two later she visits Annie again. Amazingly her eye appears to have completely healed, even though the other marks on her face are still visible.
Other mistake: Several close-ups of the business cards of Patrick Bateman and his associates reveal a misspelling of the word "Acquisitions" (the "c" is missing - not a small error, given that this is the name of their department).
Other mistake: At Natalie's house, when she is leaving and Lenny is taking a picture of her, the background looks totally different than from what is shown on the picture: the curtains are opened wider, the door is half open, there is a lamp on the left and there is no mirror on the wall. (00:17:10 - 01:20:50)
Other mistake: After the veterinarian throws blood all over the floor, we see clean spots appear on the floor in the shape of Sebastian's feet as he walks through the blood. Somehow he never has any of it stick to the bottom of his feet (even when he's in the puddle).
Other mistake: When Reinaldo first meets Lezaro Lima after winning "First Honorable Mention" for the National Book contest, Lezaro tells Reinaldo he can read any five books he wants. Lezaro names titles of books he'd like Reinaldo to read. The subtitle in English on the U.S. region DVD misspells Robert Louis Stevenson, spelling his middle name "Lewis". (00:32:05)
Other mistake: In the scenes after Giovanni Ribisi is arrested, his looks are constantly changing. In scenes where he is talking to Vin Disel his face is very fat. When he walks by Abby's desk he is thin again. If you get Boiler Room on DVD you'll see an original ending where Ribisi is thin all the way through the end of the movie; Because Giovanni was preparing for a film that required him to gain 30 something pounds, the scenes that needed to be reshot for a different ending are very defined.
Other mistake: When the priest is singing to himself in the garden, you can hear a person off camera say "go" just before the mayor enters.
Other mistake: When the mother, Pamela Fitzgerald, opens the freezer to put in the meat, she is distracted by Bridgette. In the freezer, we see the corpse of Trina. Look at Trina's eyes when we first see her; they seem to widen while Pamela is holding a pack of meat above her.
Other mistake: At the beginning of the third chapter ("El Chivo y Maru"), when the Comandante and Gustavo are driving to see Chivo, the Comandante says to Gustavo, "Make a right here."; however, Gustavo ignores him and never makes a right. He just keeps going straight.
Other mistake: After Jody, Charlie, and Cooper take their last curtain call, the shot goes backstage. Sergei yells at Eva, "You! I'm gonna kill you!" presumably because she surprised him by taking Maureen's place. Eva responds, "I'm so sorry. I wanted to tell you." And they argue playfully and then hug. But it's been a long time [the entire length of Cooper's ballet] since their ballet finished. And we saw the backstage scenes immediately after Cooper's ballet and after the Italian Symphony ballet, and everyone had a chance to talk right then. And Eva and Sergei finished their ballet in each other's arms. So they should have had that whole conversation a long time earlier. Even if real ballet dancers wouldn't be permitted to talk after a performance, the dancers in this movie are shown speaking freely to one another backstage as soon as the curtain falls. (01:44:05)
Other mistake: In the second scene in the Gorilla Building, Elizabeth says, "Thank you, Jeff" while talking to Charlie. Thirty seconds later she says, "Thank you, Charlie."
Other mistake: In the fight scene outside Trish's apartment, Jet Li kicks Maurice so he gets a scar on the right side on his lip. Later in the American football sequence you can at one shot see that he has the scar on his left side of the lip and in another shot it's completely gone.
Other mistake: There is a scene where Eddie, the mess steward, is taunting the German prisoners while writing numbers on their chests. Watch his writing hand as he's working on 11. He makes an awful lot of strokes, including several horizontal ones. You can see from the next guy, 12, that Eddie's ones are just simple vertical lines, so there's no reason for him to have spent so much time writing on 11's chest. Except that it gave him time to say his whole line. (00:45:40)
Other mistake: If you watch when Haley Joel Osment is being "stabbed" by the bullies, it is extremely obvious that the whole thing is fake. You can clearly see the knife go in under his arm. It is more visible when played in slow motion.
Other mistake: When Brian and Jake are sitting against the fence just after being beaten at basketball, Jake asks why Anna called Brian and not him. Brian yells "What are you, in the eighth grade still? Fynn before Shram." When he says "Fynn" which is his surname, he points at Jake, and when he says "Shram," Jake's surname, he points at himself.
Other mistake: The Mexican newspaper that Michael Douglas is reading in the helicopter has a headline where all of the accents are missing. No newspaper, even a cheap one, would make such a typo error. (01:27:35)
Other mistake: In almost every scene when someone arrives at the hotel, the same funny one-seater eco car is driving by. (00:53:15)
Other mistake: There are references to there being 50 representatives in the pageant, however "Miss District of Columbia" is seen numerous times during the early stages of the pageant.
Other mistake: When the titan band was playing in the title game and we see a shot of them the trombone player does not move his slide to the right place for the notes that are played.
