Continuity mistake: In the scene when Hasari comes back from work and he has got the school girl as a permanent customer, his friend goes to Kamla and tells her that Hasari has had a good day, and she closes the pot. Then a side shot of Kamla and Hasari is shown and you see her close the pot again..
Factual error: The old man is supposed to have accidentally ended up at Rita and Peter's wedding by just "getting on a train," and finding himself in Lake Forest (a far northern suburb of Chicago.) But he started out in Berwyn (a western suburb), and in order to get to Lake Forest from Berwyn, you have to get on one train, get off in downtown Chicago, walk several blocks, and then get on an entirely different line going to Lake Forest. In other words, not something you can "accidentally" find yourself doing, but something you have to know where you are going in order to do.
Factual error: In the scene where Chaplin and his wife are traveling to Europe by ship (when they find out Hoover has expelled him from the U.S.), the film shows the French Liner "Normandie" as it is leaving New York. The date shown on the film says September 1952. The "Normandie" however, was destroyed by fire in New York Harbor on February 9, 1942 as it was being converted into a U.S. troop ship for World War II. Incidentally, they filmed the scene on the R.M.S. Queen Mary in Long Beach, California, which in reality is probably the ship that the Chaplins actually took to Europe.
Continuity mistake: When Chet and Stanley asks Irene some questions (in the café, about 15 minutes into the movie) about the murder, the cigarette Irene smokes changes a few times between the shots. Most obvious is the length of the ashes. (00:16:13)
Continuity mistake: There is a scene where dozens of police cars pull up the hospital's "driveway" to surround the building. In real life they could not be coming from that direction, the "driveway" is a park road that ends at a scenic overlook with no connecting streets.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the film, Mary and Roger's nanny Brenda refers to Mary as "Mrs. Anderson", but according to the credits, Mary and Roger's last name is Charleston.
Continuity mistake: As Hampton's family leaves town for Happy World Land, the car's odometer approaches 100,000 miles and, at this point, Wade grabs a camcorder with his right hand and starts videotaping the event. But in the next shot however he's steering the car with both hands - and still operating the camcorder somehow. (00:05:50)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie Gabe and Roy are sitting in the bleachers and Roy is wiping his forehead with a towel as Gabe starts talking to him. The camera zooms in and Roy now has his arms folded on top of the towel with his legs crossed.
Continuity mistake: During the scene at Doug's house, Mathew's shoes suddenly vanish. He enters the house with them and then they are gone immediately afterward.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the brothers are sitting at the bar, Cesar lights up a cigarette and is holding it in his right hand. The shot cuts as he slaps Nestor on the shoulder with his right hand and the cigarette is magically in his left hand.
Other mistake: In the scene where Norman, his girlfriend and her family are seeing off her brother at the train station, you can see modern tractor trailers on the interstate highway in the background.
Factual error: Some characters are shown at Paddington Station and in the background the train shown at the platform is a 1920s Southern Railway green electric driving coach. Paddington at the time of the film was home to the Great Western Railway which never operated electric trains and never used green livery on carriages. Furthermore the carriage was issuing copious amounts of steam (accurate for the period and venue) but impossible from an electric train.
Other mistake: When Bobby sees Jimmy for the first time since being in prison, there's a Gameboy on the table. Jimmy walks to it and starts playing it, the problem here is that he never turns it on by the switch at the top, but you can hear the noises from the Gameboy when he's playing it.
Factual error: Rudy "Cheyenne" Cadena was not killed by his own gang as shown in the movie. In reality, he was killed by the Nuestra Familia, the rivals of the Mexican Mafia.
Continuity mistake: During the infamous scene when LT assaults the two young women sat inside their car, the car window is open for the whole conversation, however when LT is shown masturbating the car window is rolled up. (00:33:58)
Other mistake: Jack's slap across Nick's face didn't make contact. (01:25:40)
Continuity mistake: Chris's hair becomes disheveled from sweating and his face reddens from pedaling his bike in the Florida heat, but his hair looks combed and dry, and the redness on his cheeks is gone when he stops to let the USN men jog across the road. (00:03:10)
