Audio problem: As Fred slides down the banister he cries out "Whee!" but his mouth remains closed. (00:16:50)
Factual error: When Peevey gets stuck in the truck, Cliff fires up the rocket pack and simply pushes it clear. If the rocket pack can push out enough thrust to move a 2 1/2 ton truck, Cliff's body can't take that kind of stress. He stretches his arms out, starts pushing, and sets off the rocket, putting himself between the truck and an accelerating rocket demonstrably capable of moving it. The truck is stationary so has 2 1/2 tons of inertia. The rocket instantly accelerates it to an appreciable speed. Human arms cannot take that kind of stress. He's going to be crushed.
Continuity mistake: The king's youngest daughter climbs down a wall and drops a tightly sealed Erlenmeyer flask (invented centuries later) filled with a toxic potion. The flask is full when it is dropped, but partly empty after it has been caught and handed back to her by her spouse's earlier visitor. (01:08:40)
Factual error: In the scene where there is a train passing, the cars are marked "Burlington Northern." There was NO Burlington Northern until 1970, 7 years AFTER the shooting.
Visible crew/equipment: At the beginning when Chuckie is turning on all the toys in the office, he flies a helicopter and the string is so visible its funny. The helicopter then crashes and you can still see it. In the next shot the man looks at it and there is no string. (00:11:15)
Continuity mistake: Watch the Mustang blow up at the beginning of the movie. It looks to be about an 88 GT convert. When it is shown after the explosion it changes to an 86. Two completely different looking cars. Check out the headlamps. (00:17:50)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Ben knocks on "Sarah's" back door with the apples, the sides of her hair are up and it is evident that there are no visible bruises on her face. However, the next evening at dinner, "Sarah" has her hair down and after moving her hair, a large, fresh bruise is observed by Ben. If this bruise was present, it would have been seen the night before when "Sarah's" hair was 1/2 up.
Continuity mistake: When Daniel and Julia visit the Past Lives Pavilion, they show everyone coming in to where the booths are in a single line. The PA announcement tells them to take the first available booth on the left, yet they all walk to the end of the row and THEN pick a booth.
Visible crew/equipment: The boom mic and even the boom pole are visible when Sugita and Chris ask Barry for messages at the hotel reception. (00:48:20)
Continuity mistake: When Doyle is eating at the homeless shelter, he polishes his silverware and lays down a spoon, knife, and another spoon in that order. In the following shots the order changes to spoon, spoon, knife.
Continuity mistake: When Fausto hands a tape from the back seat of the car to put on, he pulls it out and it is white. In the next shot when Demi Moore takes it, it is black.
Factual error: Deer are not repelled by the smell of human urine, and in fact it does not have "a" smell - it has many. The smell of human urine varies enormously based upon diet, health and environmental factors so that no wild animal could possibly be scared of them all. Even if Lou didn't know this (and everything about her character suggests she should), Doctor Stone would - he is a doctor, after all.
Continuity mistake: At the conference, when the President is announced, there is a wide shot of the crowd and you see a lot of people standing in the background against the wall. There are also several spotlights turned on. Then it cuts to the stage where Frank and the squad are walking. When it cuts back to the crowd all the people in the background are gone and the spotlights are switched off. The crowd reappears later and the spotlights are on again. (01:00:50)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie when Flash and the Ebony Sparks are performing, you can see behind Flash, the back-up singer on his right (our left) throw his red sports coat and bow tie on the ground and rips open his shirt. Then when they show a close up of the back-up singers he has it buttoned but is in the process of taking it off. Then when they focus back on Flash, the man's shirt is clearly open, then they go back and he's still trying to open it up and he finally rips it off and goes in the motion of throwing it, but then (less than second) it pans out to show the whole group jump up and do the splits at the end of the song and the man has the shirt on again.
Continuity mistake: There is no way the cow (a Hereford I think) could have given birth to that calf (a Jersey or something like that). [The mom is a mixed-breed BEEF cow, the calf a purebred Jersey DAIRY calf. An amazing feat of animal husbandry.]
Other mistake: Throughout the movie, Nick Nolte and Barbra Streisand take cab rides. There are thousands of cabbies in NYC, so how come they always get in a cab with the same license plate?
Visible crew/equipment: When Ricky is shot through the chest, the blood pack is visible bulging through his shirt. (01:28:30)
Factual error: Warren Beatty refers to the "Hoover Dam" being able to generate the power needed for Las Vegas and his Flamingo casino. The problem is that he supposedly made the comment in 1937. At that time, the "Hoover Dam" was still called "Boulder Dam." It wasn't renamed to honour President Herbert Hoover until about ten years later.
Continuity mistake: When De Niro first meets Nolte's lady-friend, they are having a conversation in a bar or restaurant. As the camera goes from De Niro to the woman, the woman's top blouse button is open in one shot, then closed, then open, etc.
Continuity mistake: When the Turtles first arrive on screen behind Keno, they leap over the boy to attack the thieves. Their order from left to right when they walk up is Mikey, Leo, Donny, then Raph. The very next shot shows them in the air, and the order is now Mikey, Donny, Leo, then Raph. Donny and Leo switched places between shots. (00:03:35)
