Factual error: In the scene when Baby is changing her clothes in the back of Johnny's car the lights and shadows in the car are moving in the wrong direction. (00:49:30)

Factual error: Hot Air Balloon's have no lateral control. They fly in the direction the wind is blowing, so it's rather impossible for two hot air balloon's very close to each other to be flying in different directions, let alone fly exactly to the desired locations.

Factual error: In the beginning of the movie when they are in the kitchen, over on the TV you can see an episode of the Price Is Right, but it was Friday evening. The Price Is Right is on in the morning, so it could not have been playing live on the TV at that time of day.
Suggested correction: The Price is Right did night shows in the mid 80's, specifically from 1985-86.
Either you're referring to "Nighttime" The Price is Right, which ran for one season from '85-'86 or "Primetime" The Price is Right from '86. Neither of these two are what is on the TV in the scene. "Nighttime" was hosted by Tom Kennedy and "Primetime", Bob Barker wore a tux. In the scene, we see Bob Barker in regular clothes.

Factual error: Shelley Long and Bette Midler track down Michael in Tres Cruces, New Mexico. Yet near the end, when they are catching a ride back to town, a town sign reads "Welcome to Tres Crucas". It's unlikely the town would have misspelled its own name.

Factual error: The opening sequence is set in the 1950s, but there are modern school buses, cars, TV aerials, traffic signs, clothes, house architecture and style.

Factual error: The bad guys attach over a pound of Semtex to the hull of the First Lady's yacht. When it explodes, the blast shatters the windows in a house a mile away, yet apparently doesn't impact the hull. Even as the vessel burns for 5 minutes, there is no discernible list.

Factual error: In the written introduction, it states that it's the late 12th century, and Richard II is king. "Lionheart" was the nickname of Richard I who ruled in the late 12th century; Richard II didn't rule for another two hundred years.

Factual error: After his assassination, Giuliano's body is dropped on the street, and another round is fired into him. In the next shot we see a TV reporter saying something, and there are meter-long rivers of blood running across the street. As he was already dead when he was dropped he wouldn't have bled like that. (02:11:45)

Factual error: There is a scene where the 'ex-bellboy' goes looking for the nerds in the hotel suite. He is wearing a 'White Castle' apron, indicating that he now works at a White Castle Burger Restaurant. There are no White Castle Restaurants in Florida. (00:59:05)

Factual error: In the "Groovy" shed scene, Ash holds a double-barreled shotgun in one hand and saws through the gun barrels with his newly-mounted chainsaw in about 2 seconds flat. He could no more cut through a hardened steel shotgun barrel with a chainsaw than he could cut through a marble counter-top with a butter knife.

Factual error: Grizzly bears and wolves are within the film. In reality, both of these animals were extirpated from Oregon at the time of the film's release.

Factual error: The Joes chase Cobra into the snowy mountains and attack inside the weird cave. One of the Joe's vehicles splits to a driving section, and Road Block flying up in a little fighter. Road Block is holding a large rifle with both hands, yet the fighter goes up and turns around and begins flying at his control but he never touches a steering wheel or anything. Just his big gun. And he does not speak so no voice commands are given. How is he flying with no hands? (00:19:40)

Factual error: At the beginning, when Cindy and her friends return from shopping, Cindy's mother asks for her credit card. Cindy hands her several cards and her mother chastises her, saying that she was only supposed to take the Neiman Marcus card. Tucson has never had a Neiman Marcus.
Suggested correction: They could have gone to another town to go shopping, but there are no Neiman Marcus stores within 100 miles of Tucson.
There are two Neiman Marcus stores each about 1 hr 40 minutes from Tuscon, one in Scottsdale and one in Tempe. Plenty of time for Cindy and her friends to drive there, shop and get back. Considering both Cindy and her one friend appear to have Nieman Marcus bags, (the white bags with gold designs on them) it appears they made a road trip.

Factual error: Sam neglects to cock his gun before he shoots Old Cheif Woodenhead. (00:24:40)

Factual error: Horace was not holding the shotgun properly - the kickback would have not only made him miss Gillman, but it would have knocked Horace to the ground.

Factual error: This film begins with a foreboding quote attributed to Edgar Allen Poe: "Sleep. Those little slices of death. How I loathe them." Problem is, Poe never wrote any such thing (and neither did Henry Wadsworth Longfellow), despite decades of misquotes and misattributions across the Internet. So, where did the quote actually originate? The answer is Walter Reisch, lead screenwriter on the 1959 film "Journey to the Center of the Earth." In Reisch's screenplay, the antagonist Count Arne Saknussemm is urged to get some rest, to which he memorably replies, "I don't sleep. I hate those little slices of death."

Factual error: When Riggs and Murtaugh are at the indoor shooting range, Riggs shoots a smiley face at long range. Every shot makes Mel Gibson blink and twitch from the bang. No expert marksman would react like that to the gunshot. Nor could his shot placement be so accurate with that reaction.

Factual error: The Police Academy is in an unnamed American city. However, during the opening credits, Mahoney and Jones can be seen driving past a Hudson's Bay store, and the Sam The Record Man, in Toronto Canada.

Factual error: In the movie's opening scene, it's night and we see the full moon. There's an elderly priest lying in bed. The next morning we learn the priest has suffered a stroke and been taken to the hospital. That day, Prof. Birack pauses before entering a campus building to look toward the sun. We see a thin crescent moon near the sun, as if there will be an eclipse in the next few days. That night, Brian is waiting outside a campus building for Catherine to come out. He looks up at the full moon. In following days, other characters see the daytime crescent moon, still approaching the sun. It's impossible to see the full moon at night AND a crescent moon during the day in that brief a time span. It would be more like 12-14 days for the lunar phase cycle to progress from one to the other (much less back again).

Factual error: In the farmhouse bedroom scene, the lead character wakes up and a close up shot of the alarm clock shows it is 5AM. Full sunlight is coming through the window, and an exterior shot shows the sun shining on the house and hay bales. The narrative lead-in just explained that it is early October on a farm near Dallas, Texas. The earliest sunrise occurs near Dallas in October is 6:40AM. (00:04:00)
