Continuity mistake: When the butler takes the mother and kittens to be abandoned in the countryside he is on a motorcycle and sidecar combination. During the trip the sidecar changes from one side of the bike to the other and back again. Also, when the sidecar separates from the motorcycle when the dogs are chasing Edgar, the wheel on the sidecar switches sides regularly as well.
Continuity mistake: Big Joe gets out of his jeep, salutes Captain Maitland, and converses about the upcoming time off for the men. Behind Big Joe is one of his half tracks and he is on Maitland's right. The scene cuts and Maitland's "liberated" yacht is behind Big Joe and he is directly in front of Maitland. (00:25:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene before Patton hears the news of getting relieved of command, he is walking with his NCO aide George, who is wearing E6 rank on his shirt. In the following scene while getting ready for bed, the same sergeant is now wearing E5 rank.
Continuity mistake: About 3/4 through the film, which is supposedly set in the 1900s, there's an exterior shot of Jenny Agutter (as Roberta) talking to William Mervyn (as "the old gentleman"). Over Mervyn's shoulder can be seen a white delivery van driving rather fast along a road on the other side of the valley from where the filming took place (this is very obvious in the wide-screen version but less noticeable in the pan-and-scan TV version).
Continuity mistake: When Erica eats the cat the telephone is on its side, then the right way up.
Continuity mistake: When the man puts jelly down his wife's dress during the food fight, Jenny Grubb's arm is not on the table. In the next scene, her arm is resting on the table, but in the scene after that, her arm is back in its normal position.
Continuity mistake: Burt Lancaster is sitting in his car at the end, and he asks the tower if he can listen to the radio traffic for the incoming plane that's landing. The tower replies "Sure, it's on frequency 117.1". Burt then tunes the dial on his receiver to 171, not 117. 170 is blatantly written under the dial in bold type.
Continuity mistake: When the bad guy winds up to throw the dynamite into the cantina, McNally puts a round through his brisket, and he falls to the ground clutching his belly. He weakly tosses the dynamite, then stumbles back behind the adobe, now clutching his right shoulder.
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the movie, James Caan is jogging west across the Penn St. bridge in Reading, PA. He is then immediately seen jogging north on 11th St., several miles and in the opposite direction of where he was just running.
Continuity mistake: In one scene when Hudson and Andrews enter the vestibule of her house, Rock can clearly be seen to have "mutton chop" sideburns. However, once inside the house, they're gone. When he goes back outside, they're back.
Continuity mistake: At the battle of Edgehill when Crowell's cavalry and Prince Rupert's cavalry are in the middle of a melee and you can see a wound on Crowell's left arm, the same wound he receives at Naseby. It is clear that the scene was meant to be used for the battle of Naseby but was cut and used at Edgehill.
Continuity mistake: When the couple from Ohio is in the back of the squad car, the cop says that there is a hold up at a liquor store. When they get there, the store is clearly closed.
Continuity mistake: When Paris has his private meeting with Woodward, he's smoking a cigar and you can see smoke rising all around him. The camera angle changes to a wide shot and all of the cigar smoke is gone.
Continuity mistake: During the attack a parked US plane is blown up and the prop goes cartwheeling off along the runway. Not wishing to waste a perfectly good explosion the director filmed this from several different angles and used the same explosion several times. You can easily see the prop each time.
Continuity mistake: When Jack and Mrs. Pendrake meet in the whorehouse and talk through a screen of glass beads, Jack is standing very close to the screen, that's why it's out of focus when the camera is on her "looking through his eyes". However, in one shot it's not, and that looks quite strange because Jack hasn't moved away from the screen. (01:46:35)
Continuity mistake: In one of the early surgery scenes you see Trapper operating, although he arrives only later as the new chest cutter. (00:13:20)
Continuity mistake: The third time we see the stagecoach on its way to Denver, it's passing the exact same tree and hill that it passed at the start of its journey. It's also traveling on a paved road, which in 1860s frontier Colorado is extremely unlikely. (00:11:15)
Continuity mistake: During the entire battle the ground is sticky mud. When the French cavalry charge however the ground is dry, so dry there is dust coming from the horses' hooves as they gallop.
Continuity mistake: The footage of Dracula impaled on a giant golden crucifix at the end of 'Dracula Has Risen From The Grave' is re-cut for the pre-credit sequence of this film. However, when the second film continues, the golden crucifix is missing in the background, behind Dracula's powdered blood and collapsing cloak, creating a continuity error with perhaps an unusual reason for happening. Hammer props department may have rid themselves of the crucifix between films shot a year apart.
Continuity mistake: When the woman with the glasses meets the other man for the first time after laying on the sand, the woman has sand on her back. In the shot when you look at her back the sand has disappeared.
