Revealing mistake: After the helicopter escape at the end, a red sports car is sticking nose-down in the ground after falling hundreds of feet down out of the aeroplane, without a single crack in the windscreen, in mint condition. The yellow one only has the right door open. (01:59:30)
Revealing mistake: In the scene where Bond is trapped in Largo's shark-infested pool, he uses his mini air tank to breathe. In most of the subsequent shots, look closely at the actor's face - it looks a lot more like a stuntman than Sean Connery. (01:20:20)
Revealing mistake: During the fight scene in the belly dancer's room, Bond spins the bald guy around to avoid being hit by a chair. When the bald guy gets hit in the back with the chair, you can see a large rectangle of padding under his jacket.
Revealing mistake: During the car chase scene, if you watch the speedometer on the car, it never rises above zero. That, and the obviously poor image quality of the "road" in front of them, shows that they were using projected film in front of the car.
Revealing mistake: Bond escapes from the buried pipeline when two technicians open a hatch from the outside. One tech unlocks the hatch by rotating a large wheel, which drives the locking mechanism. But when he finally opens the hatch, there's absolutely no mechanism attached. There's just a bare axle that the wheel turns on.
Revealing mistake: During the scene at the restaurant in Montenegro (actually filmed in the Czech Republic), you see a payphone with a Czech Telecom logo on it (itself a piece of history, as these are all now rebranded O2). (01:57:50)
Revealing mistake: When James Bond has a spider on his arm, one can see he's under a glass plate, and the spider on top of the plate. (00:41:55)
Revealing mistake: After Pola Ivanova sneaks out of the baths, she climbs into the car with General Gogol, who can be seen to be a double and not Walter Gotell. (01:07:20)
Revealing mistake: When the train plummets into the basement, the windows never seem to smash nor crack, nor does the paint on the train ever seem to scratch the slightest bit. (01:34:15)
Revealing mistake: During the draining of the water in the dish, some shots show the water moving backwards. For instance, at a particular moment, masses of water jump up, arc toward the opening, and fall in it. The most likely reason is that, during the filming, the special effects people took a shot of a replica of the dish filling with water, then edited it the other way to show that the water was emptied from the dish. (01:42:00)
Revealing mistake: When Bond throws the dead pilot out of the helicopter, you can tell it's a dummy as its arms and legs bend at impossible angles.
Revealing mistake: In the scene with the helicopter chasing them down the street, apart from the fact that the rotors should catch on something and hurl the machine into a wall, when it finally hits the wall at the end, the pilot and crew quite clearly become about 4 crash-test dummies. This wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that they are unpainted and all sit in their seats looking straight ahead with their hands in their laps while they are driven into a wall. You'd think they could have at least posed the arms over their faces or SOMETHING!
Revealing mistake: In the rooftop chase between Bond and Mitchell, it is obvious that both characters are wearing black running shoes, when in the previous scene, both wore smart black suit shoes.
Revealing mistake: The shot of the two nuclear missiles being launched is used twice, just reversed. They seem to have changed the saturation slightly in one of them to make it look different, but there are identical clouds at the top left/top right in both shots, ruining the trick.
Revealing mistake: When Bond is going to the Swiss banker's flat in Bilbao at the beginning of the film, there is a scene where, in the background, you can clearly see people watching the filming. (00:01:15)
Revealing mistake: When Bond throws a Blofeld henchman off a cliff near Piz Gloria in the Alps, you can see that it is a dummy, as its arm swings round and wraps around the whole dummy.
Revealing mistake: In the scene where Bond is trying to escape with his new Mini-Jet, he flies through a big hall. If you look carefully, you can see that the aeroplane which is supposed to be flying with its wings vertical is fastened to some kind of sustainer.
Revealing mistake: During the fight on the train between Bond and Grant, you can spot the stunt double for the Grant character by noticing the bad toupee.
Revealing mistake: When Tee Hee bends the barrel of Bond's Walther PPK, in the close-up, the score marks where the barrel has been pre-cut are visible.
Revealing mistake: When Bond is on Goldfinger's plane - if you watch closely when it shows the external view of the plane in the sky you can see the plane is a model with two wires holding it up. The model plane's design and configuration are also quite different in mid-air. (00:54:20)
