Days of Future Past: Part 2 - S1-E12

Factual error: The U.S. flag has 13 stripes. When Bishop is telling the X-Men how Gambit's betrayal will affect the future, the flag shown flying outside the Capitol building is missing two stripes. In the next shot showing the flag draped over the coffin, it has at least 17 stripes. (00:04:25)

Days of Future Past: Part 2 - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: When Bishop is shooting an energy blast at Gambit, he has three playing cards and five poker chips in front of him, while Wolverine also has three cards. When Wolverine is telling them both to sit down, Bishop now has four cards and eight chips, and Wolverine has four cards as well. Additionally, the deck has moved closer to the center of the table, and the arrangement of Wolverine's chips and the arrangement of Gambit's cards and chips have changed. (00:08:35)

Days of Future Past: Part 2 - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: When Blob is looking out the hotel window, the window panes have been opened at a 90° angle. When the shot changes, the opened panes are no longer visible. When the shot changes again, the windows are slid open, which would make it impossible for the panes to have been positioned at a 90° angle in the first place. (00:09:07)

Days of Future Past: Part 2 - S1-E12

Plot hole: When Gambit charges an object with kinetic energy, it makes a high-pitched sound. When he places a charged card on the arcade game to use as a trap, Wolverine should have heard it, as he possesses a superhuman sense of hearing, especially since Gambit muted the TV. (00:09:28)

Days of Future Past: Part 2 - S1-E12

Character mistake: After Gambit escapes from Wolverine and Bishop, Bishop says to Wolverine "No wonder you sent me back to change the future, because everything that happens is your fault." Wolverine didn't send Bishop back to change the future. He insisted on going back himself, but Bishop forced Wolverine out of the mission and inserted himself into the role because he felt Wolverine was too old to succeed. (00:10:03)

Days of Future Past: Part 2 - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: After Blob knocks Cyclops to the ground, Jean helps him up, and the two of them are standing a step away from Blob. The shot changes to Blob pointing and laughing for roughly a second, and when the shot changes again, Cyclops and Jean have disappeared, with not enough time to have moved offscreen. (00:12:20)

Show generally

Question: Does anyone know why Gambit was featured less and less in episodes as the show went on? He was one of the most popular characters in not just X-Men, but all of Marvel Comics around the time this series first aired, so unless it had something to do with his voice actor's contract, it seems odd they wouldn't have utilized him more.

Answer: Chris Potter, the original Gambit voice actor, did indeed quit the role in the 4th season. His last episode was The Phalanx Covenant Part 1 so it seems reasonable that Fox would limit the use of the character even though it was recast. It doesn't appear that Potter left the role due to animosity, he stated in an interview that he wished to play Gambit in the first live action X-Men film.
