Show generally

Continuity mistake: Throughout the first series Ben and Susan's bedroom had the window on the left of the screen and the bathroom on the right. In the second series onwards the bathroom and the window have mysteriously swapped around. Also the entire layout of the house changes dramaticly.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: When Nick becomes a taxi driver, he gives Ben a lift to the cinema. But he sets off in an exorcist's outfit and arives in plain clothes. If he was driving, he couldn't have got changed.

Much Ado About Ben - S1-E8

Plot hole: Janey is on the phone trying to win concert tickets and says, "She has to be caller number 5, rules of the contest are very strict." Susan then says something else and Janey says on the phone, "Dee I have to go, mum's going mad again." She evidently isn't on the phone to win tickets.

The Lost Weekend - S3-E11

Continuity mistake: In one shot, Ben's arms go from beside him, but when the shot changes after Susan has got up off the floor, one of his arms is pointing towards the kitchen and he is clicking his fingers. (00:01:25)

2011

Michael: The fact is, now that Mum's "hands-off", it's like there's two Bens, and one of you has to go.
Ben: What?
Michael: You're expendable.
Ben: Erm, I'm what... Expendable?
Michael: You see? That's another thing. You're very slow on the uptake.
Ben: Michael, are you firing me?
Michael: Very, very slow.
Ben: I don't believe this. You can't fire me. I quit years ago.

Trivia: For the entire first season, the hinges on the front door are on the right and the stairs have a corner at the bottom. However in all seasons after this, the hinges on the front door are on the left and the stairs go straight down to the floor, no corner. (Some sets do sometimes change between the pilot episode and episode 2, but I have never seen something change after a whole season.)

Answer: Easy. He could have got the guitar at any point in his life. As for keeping it in the attic? You're not going to throw out a £1000 guitar any time soon.
