Battlestar Galactica

The Lost Warrior - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: In a wide shot, Apollo is inspecting an air rifle. As the wide shot ends, he holds the rifle wrapped by both hands. When the close-up shot starts, the gun is on its side, held by his right hand while his left is removing the air cartridge. (00:11:40)

Take the Celestra - S1-E23

Continuity mistake: When Aurora and her companion are picking up the guns from the closet, you can see the closet contains two racks with several guns on them. At first they empty the upper rack of guns. When it cuts they empty the lower rack, but then the guns suddenly have reappeared in the upper rack. (00:13:30)

The Long Patrol - S1-E7

Revealing mistake: Starbuck is romancing both Cassie and Athena in different rooms aboard the Rising Star. Odd that both rooms have the same wrinkle and tear in the wallpaper just under the window. There's also, in both rooms, what looks like a black thumbtack repairing the glitch. (00:08:25)

The Lost Planet of the Gods (1) - S1-E4

Visible crew/equipment: After the scene when Apollo and Starbuck go into the decontamination booths, it cuts to Adama, Boomer and the doctor talking. When they walk from the bridge and Adama says "I want everyone who's been in contact with Jolly and Boomer under strict quarantine", you can see the boom mike shadow moving on the wall to the right of the screen. The Young Lords - S1-E11

Plot hole: After crashing on the planet, Starbuck's pants are shown torn open on his right thigh which is bleeding significantly. The child warriors find him and bandage his wound. When Boomer and Apollo arrive to pick up Starbuck, they give him a clean uniform. In the next scene, he is in that uniform, but his injured leg is wrapped in bloody bandages over the new pant leg. It seems unlikely he'd put the fresh pants on, then bandages. (00:44:40)

The Living Legend (2) - S1-E13

Revealing mistake: As the gold Centurion Cylon approaches the camera, some very obvious human fingerprints litter the frame around his "mouthpiece"- as if left by a crew member that helped the actor put it on. (00:15:45)

The Gun on Ice Planet Zero (1) - S1-E8

Plot hole: The borrowed (oh, all right, ripped off) plot of "The Guns of Navarone" does not translate well here. The premise, that the rag-tag fleet must pass through the "narrow corridor" guarded by the pulsar gun, is ludicrous. We're in outer space here. Outer space is very, very big. We can fly around one lousy little planet, no matter how many Cylons are "herding us" toward it.

Jean G

The Living Legend (2) - S1-E13

Revealing mistake: As Pegasus approaches the two forward base stars, she is shown from the rear of her port side, moving away from camera. The shot is a reversed image of Galactica (her name is backwards on the landing bay). After the vipers clear a path for her, the same shot is flipped again, so that Galactica reads properly, despite the shot purportedly being of Pegasus. (00:43:55 - 00:45:05)

The Gun on Ice Planet Zero (2) - S1-E9

Audio problem: On their way across the mountain toward the pulsar station, Wolfe draws his gun. Apollo says "The Galactica is the only ship in the galaxy that can protect you", then he pauses for a second. Right before the shot cuts, his mouth continues moving but no voice is heard. (00:30:05)

Experiment in Terra - S1-E22

Plot hole: The General informs the President that the Eastern Alliance has just launched its missiles. But the General has been sitting there throughout Apollo's speech with no communications device. So he couldn't have known that the missiles had been launched. (00:36:40)

The Lost Planet of the Gods (1) - S1-E4

Visible crew/equipment: When Boxey is playing with Muffit, and Muffit plays dead, you can see a black tape marker by their feet. The marker remains there for some shots, then it's gone. Later, when Apollo and Serina argue about her training to be a pilot and Serina says "He doesn't get a report on every cadet in the fleet", Apollo walks towards the bed. There is another black tape marker where he place his foot, but it wasn't there in earlier shots. (00:23:30 - 00:24:55)

Mortug

The Long Patrol - S1-E7

Revealing mistake: When Robber starts shooting at Apollo and Boomer, it's comically obvious that the two warriors have been replaced by stunt doubles that bear almost no resemblance to the actors- most notably as they run for cover. (00:32:55)

Commander Adama: Mr. President, a wall of unidentified craft is closing in on the fleet.
Baltar: Possibly a Cylon welcoming commitee.
Commander Adama: Sir, may I suggest we launch a 'welcoming commitee' of our own?

Trivia: Episode 18 - "Baltar's Escape": This is likely a mistake, but it's a self-excusing one that, if intentional, was a nice bit of inspired continuity. In "The Man with Nine Lives", a Colonial Warrior, played by an actor not seen previously, is guarding new recruits that are confined in their quarters awaiting security clearance. He not only freely gives out classified information, but is eventually overpowered by two phony recruits and locked in a supply closet. Then, in "Baltar's Escape", the same actor appears as a member of the Council of 12's security team. It's likely the film makers thought no one would recognize him, but given the disdain that Colonial warriors have for the Council's security people, it is fitting to see this failed Warrior reassigned to the Council - a nice touch, even if not intentional.
