Answer: Because he knew that Diana Prince was Wonder Woman and watched her in action. Since he had been missing for a couple of days, she needed to erase everything he knew.
Couldn't she just make him forget that Diana and Wonder Woman were the same but leave everything else?

Revealing mistake: When Wonder Woman drops a mine into the water, she's supposed to be dropping it into the ocean. However, you can see a drain plug of some sort in the background and the "ocean" is obviously a pool, or similar.
Trivia: Jeannie Epper, Lynda Carter's stunt double's son, was bullied in school by his peers who didn't believe his mother played Wonder Woman. Lynda Carter heard this and invited them to the set.
