This isn't possible because they were never taken off in the first place.

We see a view of a police car under them, next to the cliff and a billboard. We also see a shot of the police car facing a hill or two. The car flies out of nowhere onto the police car, from behind a hill, not off the cliff. The landscape in the scene changes in each shot.

Continuity mistake: Gary Take a Bath: The huge mud puddle around the tree was never there when SpongeBob first heard Gary's meows coming from the tree. Continuity mistake: When Sandy and SpongeBob are climbing the mountain at the beginning of "Pressure," when Sandy pushes the rocks down at SpongeBob, there were two big ones holding them that vanish.
