Continuity mistake: When Detective Stabler is questioning Carlos Guzman at the pool, Guzman puts the drain cover on in the pool and walks towards Stabler. The camera goes to Stabler and back to Guzman, and the drain cover in the background is off.
Other mistake: The animation of the video player is a static image since the graphics don't move, and since it's a live stream it shouldn't have the pointer at half of the screen in the first place. (00:21:50)
Factual error: The scene where Pierson Bartlett is on the stand, he pulls a spoon out of his jacket. This would never be allowed. He wouldn't get through the metal detector with any metal that could be used as a weapon. He would either have to take it back to his car, or leave it at the security desk.
Factual error: When tracing the "Master Baiter" the detective says she can't trace the subject because "the HTML code is scrambled". There is no such thing as scrambled HTML, and on top of that HTML can never give away any information about a subject's location. Also, she can't get his IP address because it constantly changes. Yet, she does know from what exact wifi-spot he connected. If you get random IP-addresses, for instance by using random proxy servers, you can't pinpoint a location (which was of course why he used this technique).
Character mistake: When Casey is talking to Rebecca Balthus about Jennifer's defense, Balthus claims that Jennifer is innocent and intends to prove it. While she can present a defense, Balthus is not required to prove anything: the burden of proof lies solely on Casey; Jennifer possesses what is called the presumption of innocence, the basic principle that she is considered innocent until it's proven she's guilty.
Revealing mistake: Near the end of the show where Liv elbows Stuckey you see a stunt double, then when he falls in a split second he's replaced with a dummy.
Continuity mistake: Munch and Cassidy are at an S&M shop and are about to leave. Munch grabs Cassidy by his upper left arm. Cut to the next shot and he's now grabbing onto Cassidy by the shoulder.
Character mistake: At the end of the episode, Abby Carmichael says that professor Rousseau will be convicted of three class-A felonies, with a term of a year each. According to NY state laws, three class-A felonies would lead to the death penalty; Abby meant to say three class-A misdemeanors.
Continuity mistake: When Donovan pushes Stabler off the roof, Stabler is standing with his back facing the parapet and goes straight over. However, when he's shown on the roof below after he's landed, he's turned almost a full 90 degrees and is lying parallel to the building.
Factual error: The way that the drug Scopolamine is described is not accurate. It does not render the victim "unable to resist instructions". It can produce "twilight sleep", delirium and euphoria, but does not give anyone complete control over another person as depicted in the episode.
Factual error: When sergeant Benson is in the bathroom alone after it has been declared clear she looks at her phone to see a picture message from Lewis of the little girl he has tied up. She then texts him back saying "where are you" but at the top of the screen it says unknown as if the sender has blocked their number, so it would be physically impossible for sergeant Benson to reply to this message. (00:26:25)
Factual error: When tracking the pedophile's computer his IP number reads something like 3046.23.54.68. In reality, the highest possible IP number is 255.255.255.255 because of the way the numbers are stored on the computer.
Factual error: Olivia Benson is fingerprinting a suspect, and she still has her firearm on in her holster. As a veteran NYC police officer, she should know the first rule of officer safety is to remove your firearm before fingerprinting a suspect. (00:11:03)
Redemption - S3-E6
Visible crew/equipment: While Detective Stabler and Hawkins talk on the sidewalk, the shadow of a boom mic can be seen on Stabler's shoulder. (00:19:55)
Other mistake: An ambulance, when Kathy Stabler gives birth to the baby, Olivia says the baby's a girl. In the hospital, when Elliot gets to Kathy's table's room, she tells him the baby's a boy.
Suggested correction: Olivia never says the baby's a girl. Rewatch, please. In the ambulance, when Kathy is in the midst of the last few pushes to get the baby out, Olivia is watching the delivery over Kathy's shoulder, being supportive. With Kathy's last push, Olivia repeats, "Good girl, good girl," which is directed at Kathy to encourage her pushing during her delivery (timecode 00:39:20). Then, when the baby is out, Olivia excitedly exclaims, "It's a boy!"
Continuity mistake: The FBI agent's fork is already loaded with egg as she picks it up. You can hear she puts food in her mouth as she is talking, but as the camera angle changes the egg is still on her fork. (00:22:00)
Revealing mistake: After M.E. Warner tells Fin and Munch the boy was smothered to death, you can see the foot of the "dead body" twitch or move.
Visible crew/equipment: After Picard headbutts Stabler into the car window and runs away, Benson runs over to comfort him. As she cradles him, the reflection in the side of the car shows the camera person filming as the shot gets closer. (00:14:05)
Visible crew/equipment: As Stabler is bringing Saul Picard to the cop car after finding him in the park, a large boom mic is visible in the reflection of the car's window as Stabler opens the door. (00:13:40)
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the episode when the parrot first comes to Patty, it rests on her left shoulder. In the next shot, when she comes around the corner, the parrot has moved to her right arm. (00:01:30)
