Malcolm in the Middle

Pearl Harbor - S6-E4

Continuity mistake: Lois and Jessica enter the house after coming back from going to a musical. As Lois comes through the door her purse slips off her shoulder and she catches it around her elbow. In the next shot a second later, the purse is back up on her shoulder. (00:16:00)

No Motorcycles - S6-E16

Continuity mistake: Francis calls Hal out to the driveway where two motorcycles are parked. In the first camera shot the motorcycles are parked side by side with the front wheels turned in the same direction. All subsequent shots of the motorcycles in the driveway show them in a different position, one angled behind the other, with the front wheels turned in opposite directions.

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Lois hangs up on Francis before saying "Oh, I love you," it seems as though the line is already disconnected (as can be heard from the dial tone from Francis' side), but in a later shot, Malcolm and Reese are just about to hang up the phone.

Francis Escapes - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Lois finds out about Francis escaping, there are three orange mugs hanging from a rack by the phone. When Lois reaches for the phone to call the police, she makes the middle one start swinging. She and Hal sit down, and the end mug has moved from the rack into a box on the kitchen counter. Also, the mugs are hanging still. Towards the end of the scene, the "fallen" mug is back on the rack, and the middle mug is swinging again.

Goodbye Kitty - S5-E3

Continuity mistake: After Stevie becomes catatonic, a wrapper from a chocolate bar lands on his face, covering his glasses. The shot cuts and it's on his shoulder and then cuts again and it's on his face again.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: In the episode where Lois takes revenge on the four girls who pranked Reese, Lois and Reese use a makeshift catapult to launch paint balloons at one of the girls and her date. The first balloon hits the girl, covering her left shoulder with pink paint. In the shot where her date gets hit with a balloon, her shoulder is no longer covered in paint. Some of the paint blotches change size and shape on both her and her date throughout this scene as well.

Malcolm Defends Reese - S7-E9

Continuity mistake: Hal shows Dewey that he fixed the microwave so that it works with the door open. There is a red cloth inside. Hal then shuts off the microwave and when he and Dewey start talking the cloth changes position from shot to shot.

Kicked Out - S4-E12

Continuity mistake: Malcolm's seat belt changes from on to off the first scene with him and his mom in the car. When it's a shot from the front it's on, but when it's a shot from the side (from the driver's/mom side) you can see that the part of the seat belt that's going across is now behind Malcolm, instead of on him like it was a second ago. This changes back and forth.

Baby (2) - S4-E21

Plot hole: When Jamie is delivered, he's completely clean. Francis's hands are clean too...

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: During the fight between Malcolm and Spath, Spath goes at Malcolm with his right fist, but the closeup of his hand going towards Malcolm and Stevie is his left hand.

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When the "Krelborne" teacher comes to the house to tell Lois that Malcolm is gifted, Lois comes to the door naked and puts her arm up on the doorway. On the shot from behind she has her hand low (about where her waist is) from the shot from the front she has her hand up high (above her head).

Opening theme song: Yes, no, maybe, I don't know, can you repeat the question? You're not the boss of me now, You're not the boss of me now, You're not the boss of me now, and you're not so big. You're not the boss of me now, You're not the boss of me now, You're not the boss of me now, and you're not so big. Life is unfair.
