Other mistake: 10/1/24 Sharon, Stacey, Kathy, Denise and Suki returned to the cafe to fill up the hole where they buried Keanu with cement, they manage to mix the cement and fill the hole without getting their hands or clothes dirty and left the cafe as clean as when they arrived.

Continuity mistake: 19/2/10: During the live episode, Bradley fell from the Vic roof on his back, feet facing the pub as he falls. When he lands, his body has rotated 180 degrees and his head is now facing the pub. Also he is now face-down, having landed on his front. How is this possible when he fell backwards?

Other mistake: Stuart drives to his wedding in the hearse, but he gets trapped inside when the battery goes flat, disabling the central locking and electric windows. Later on how does he manage to sound the horn if the battery is flat?

Character mistake: When Pat goes to Roy Evans' car showroom to complain about the dodgy car he sold to her son David, she asks Roy if he has any children. Roy replies that he has two sons which was true, but at this time Roy didn't know he had a second son, Nathan, conceived years before when Roy had an affair with his secretary Doreen. He only found out years later when Nathan turned up to tell Roy that Doreen was terminally ill. When Roy was speaking to Pat he only knew about his first son and business partner Barry.

Audio problem: In series 10, episode 15 Episode 867, transmitted on 25 May 1993, during Nigel's birthday party everyone is dancing and talking loudly to be heard over music - but no music has been dubbed into the scene. The scene lasts several minutes and seems increasingly bizarre as the dancing is energetic and Nigel even takes Debbie to the stairs to talk to her somewhere quieter... But there is no music at all.

Visible crew/equipment: 19/2/85 In the scene when Pete leaves Cathy on the stall to go and have a drink in the Vic there is a boom mike shadow on the window behind them.

Plot hole: James Willmott-Brown's son Luke hasn't been seen since being bundled into the back of a van by Phil's "heavies" after he assaulted Ben, although Willmott-Brown has commented on Luke's disappearance to his daughter Sophie as they all work together. Luke is the favourite of his three children, you'd think he would be concerned as to his whereabouts, especially around Christmas time.

Suggested correction: Although we didn't actually see Willmott-Brown die, he did tell Kathy he was dying. It is likely he died and therefore Luke was forgotten with him.

Other mistake: 25/12/17 Tanya is walking across the square to get Abi. It is raining heavily but Tanya is not getting wet.

Visible crew/equipment: 17/1/17 When Honey is chasing the rat out of the shop with the broom you can see a hand at the bottom right corner of the door belonging to the animal handler who has just released the rat.

Continuity mistake: 5/7/16 When Sharon and Buster arrive at the mansion where Gavin is holding Kathy, Sharon drives past Gavin's car which is parked opposite the mansion's front door. The angle changes to inside the car to show Sharon and Buster talking then to outside of the car and a long shot of the mansion's front door, Sharon drives past Gavin's parked car again and parks outside the front door. The following shots inside and outside of her car show it parked in a different position in relation to Gavin's car.

Factual error: 7 Sep 2015: Several errors with the soldiers in the recruiting office. They wear their berets almost flat on their heads and not pulled to the side - no self-respecting British soldier would wear his beret this way. The berets have tails, which British berets do not have. Lee salutes a sergeant major - he's an experienced soldier so would never do such a thing and would get an earful if he did. Lee talks about his platoon in Afghanistan - he's in the Royal Engineers, who have troops instead of platoons. In fact, all the soldiers are from the RE - in reality recruiting offices are staffed by soldiers from a mix of corps and regiments.

Continuity mistake: 18/4/14 Terry takes Diane to the station in his taxi, a few minutes later Terry's taxi is still parked in the square outside his flat.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: 28/3/14: At the end of this episode Mick Carter drives over to see his father Stan and parks his car outside Stan's flat, but in the next scene when Ronnie and Roxy are coming out of the queen Vic Mick's car is still parked outside the Vic.

Factual error: In the episode where Kat is flying off to Ibiza, she is seated in an over-wing exit seat. These seats are reserved for ABP's (Able Bodied Passengers) which mean no children or infants under the age of 14 can sit there. Once the plane has started boarding, check in closes for that flight and no further tickets can be sold for that flight. The captain requested pushback, but, certain conditions around the aircraft wouldn't make this possible. Stairs still in place, ground power was attached and once the door had been closed Alfie would have not under any circumstances been allowed onto a airfield to climb the stairs. If he did, he would have been escorted off.

Continuity mistake: In the episode where Lauren and Joey take Derek Branning's car and crash it into a shop, before the car crashes, as it speeds through the streets there are no hubcaps on the car, but after the car has crashed into the shop it has them.

Frank Butcher: I'll tell you what, pal, you talk to me like that again and you're gonna get a dry slap.

Trivia: The EastEnders set is built on the same spot that the "German" building site used in the first series of Auf Weidersen Pet, was located. If you look carefully you'll notice that the flats in the background are the same ones in both programmes.

Question: Is outdoor Albert Square a set or a real life location? If its a set, how do they get the trains to run by so realistically and how do they get so many extras? If it's real, where is it?

Answer: Albert Square is a set in the BBC studios in Borehamwood, on the north side of London. The trains, to the best of my knowledge, are simply a bit of the old TV magic. As far as the extras go - it's not difficult to get extras in reasonable numbers through agencies.
