Other mistake: In the summer of 2004, in Puerto Arena, Paloma met a man, Nick, who told her that Luis and the other Lopez-Fitzgeralds were just trying to use her, and didn't really love her. Later that night, Nick kidnapped Paloma and tried to rape and murder her. She stopped him by bludgeoning him with a rock, and later throwing him into a support pillar that resulted in a structure collapsing on him and presumably killing him, before reuniting with Luis, Sheridan, and the Wheelers. And yet that fall, after she had returned to Harmony, Paloma flashed back to what Nick had told her and behaved as if she believed what the murdering rapist had told her about the people who ultimately rescued her from him.
Other mistake: On 2/18/05, during Beth's "Law & Order" fantasy, the caption gives the date as "Febuary 18" instead of February.
Other mistake: On 10/19/06, Rebecca tells Gwen she paid off the bellhop to lie, since Ethan was right behind her and JT the entire chase, she couldn't have had time to do anything but run.
Other mistake: On 12/25/03, everybody is making a big deal about how Sheridan is breastfeeding Martin, and how this will save the baby's life because he's finally feeding. But the baby's problem was never that it was refusing to eat, but rather that it could not absorb nutrition. The baby was previously fed a nutrient solution with all the same nutrients found in breast milk, and he consumed it, but didn't absorb the nutrients. Eve doesn't have any medical equipment with her at the church, so even if the baby really is absorbing the nutrition, she would have no way to determine that right there while it's happening.
Other mistake: On 9/13/05, Theresa tried to reach into the furnace to retrieve the disks that Gwen destroyed. With one hand in the fire, she used her other hand to brace herself against the furnace door while Pilar tried to pull her away. After Pilar succeeded, Theresa's arm that had been in the furnace was badly burned. However, the hand that had been gripping the door of the furnace, which should also have been infernally hot, was unharmed.
Answer: It's just supposed to be funny. It's an old plot ploy that's been overused in recent years. The last time it was really funny was when Home Improvement did it with the next door neighbor. I think they use a different voice because they like the way that actor's voice sounds.
