Only Fools and Horses

Heroes and Villains - S8-E1

Continuity mistake: At the time Damien appears in the lounge with a baseball cap on, asking Rodney if he wants to play war, the shot shows him with his cap slanted to the left, next shot it's to the right and finally it ends up being straight on his head. (He was obviously quite fidgety behind the scenes).

Modern Men - S8-E2

Continuity mistake: While Del and Rodney are arguing over the Trotter Crash Turban, the end of the scarf attached to the helmet keeps changing position. In one shot it is behind Rodney's back, then in front of his chest, and then behind his back again.

Time on Our Hands - S8-E3

Continuity mistake: When Del is pretending to be ill, Albert and Raquel say that they called the doctor in the previous evening. However, a few shots earlier we learn that Del was out with Rodney the night before.

Heroes and Villains - S8-E1

Continuity mistake: The 3 wheel van has a breakdown and pulls up onto a pavement outside a sport shop. Del and Rodney investigate the problem. A few minutes later there is a wideshot of the vehicle, showing it's in the middle of the road, nowhere near a sport shop. (00:39:30 - 00:42:50)

To Hull and Back - S4-E8

Continuity mistake: Rodney says that he picked up the money off the table when they were trying to escape from the police, yet if you look closely he never goes near it. And he never has another chance to pick it up.

Trivia: The story behind why Trigger calls Rodney Dave is that apparently Roger Lloyd Pack kept getting names mixed up during rehearsals early on in the show's history. "Dave" came from David Jason when he was actually with Nicholas Lyndhurst [Rodney]. It stuck and quickly became part of the show's immense appeal.

Chosen answer: An apparent long string of illnesses.

Answer: Joan Mavis Trotter (Nee Hollins) was an unseen character in Only Fools And Horses, having died in 1964, 17 years before the series began. She died of an alcohol related illness due to both her sham marriage to Reg Trotter and being hit hard by the death of her secret lover Freddie "The Frog" Robdal.
