Fresh Bones - S2-E15
Visible crew/equipment: When Mulder chases Chester on the pier, the camera's shadow can be seen as it circles around him. (00:25:25)
Colony (1) - S2-E16
Continuity mistake: When the doctor leaves the common room, he is holding a chart in his left hand, but when he is running down the corridor, both his hands are free. (00:04:40)
Factual error: The flag in Skinner's office is hung upside-down. (00:28:00)
Visible crew/equipment: When Mulder climbs up the tower of the submarine, his shadow is visible, projected on a studio wall. (00:32:40)
Factual error: In the opening sequence, we see a nuclear attack submarine beneath the ice in the Arctic Ocean. When the captain orders the ship to surface, one of the crewmen mutters, "Surface to what? We're under 32 feet of glacial ice!" Except that they're not under "glacial ice," they're under Arctic sea ice, which ranges from about 6 feet thick in the summer to about 15 feet thick in the winter.
Visible crew/equipment: When the tiger is on the loose it prowls around a building site and there is a shot where you can see the animal trainer calling the tiger right to him. (00:23:56)
Factual error: Mulder mentions the USS Eldridge as disappearing from Philadelphia (and later reappearing in Norfolk) "nine months after Roswell", i.e., May 1948. In fact, the supposed incident took place much earlier - in February 1943, according to almost all reliable sources. (00:06:50)
Factual error: Mulder refers to a Royal Navy vessel that sailed from Leeds. No large ship can sail from there - it is at least 50 miles from the coast.
Continuity mistake: When Mulder pulls the nail from Blockhead's nose, the pliers are at The End of the nail, but in later shots it changes to the middle and then back to The End.
Visible crew/equipment: When Mulder and Scully are talking to the owner of the trailer park and he is berating Mulder, you can see the edge of the lens in the upper left corner of one shot. This is because the lens used was of a wide angle almost fish-eye type and the edge of the lens itself can occasionally creep into the frame on most cameras.
Continuity mistake: When the dad is offering the son some ice cream, the cone he offers is a single scoop. In the next shot, as the son takes it, it is now a double scoop. In addition, the scoops change from single to double and back and forth in the next few shots.
Revealing mistake: When the dad and Charlie are eating their ice cream cones at The Beginning of the episode of the episode you can tell that the ice cream is fake.
Continuity mistake: When Scully starts the procedure of taking out the bug from the body, she is wearing no mask, but when she finishes it she is wearing the mask. (00:21:45)
Soft Light - S2-E23
Revealing mistake: When taking a closer look at the doors of the hotel and the people entering it at the start, it can be easily noticed that this scene is played backwards. (00:00:05)
Soft Light - S2-E23
Continuity mistake: When the guy looks through the peephole, Dr Banton casts no shadow, while in other scenes he does. (00:01:55)
Soft Light - S2-E23
Factual error: Dr Banton's shadow devours the second policeman, however Banton cannot cast a shadow in that direction. (00:11:35)
Soft Light - S2-E23
Continuity mistake: After the meeting with Dr. Davey, we cut to Mulder sitting in the train station trying to figure out what Dr. Banton was doing in the video. We see an overhead shot of the station, which shows a column in the far distance. Watch carefully: the shot never loses sight of the column, and you can see random passersby walk towards the column, but NO Scully. As the camera moves downwards to focus on Mulder in the foreground, Scully suddenly appears from behind the column, as if she had been walking towards it all this while. Obviously, she had been standing behind the column until her cue to come out. (00:19:45)
Soft Light - S2-E23
Plot hole: If the shadow acts like a black hole and tears apart all atoms that enter it why does it only seem to affect people (but also their clothing and anything else on them)? Surely Dr Banton would be destroying everything around him.
Factual error: Scully makes a reference to an F.B.I. field office in Kansas City, however, no such office existed at the time of this episode. (00:13:10)
Chosen answer: Yes.
