Easy come, easy go - S3-E9

Factual error: Throughout this episode, when Carrie talks about the functions of the left vs. right sides of the brain, she has them backwards. The right side of the brain is the creative side, the left is the logical one. Apparently, the writers liked the idea that the "right" side of Carrie's brain would ultimately lead her to do the "right" thing about Mr. Big, but that's not the case. Rational decision are made with the brain's left side. (But then again, Carrie never was very rational when it came to Mr. Big.).

Suggested correction: The right and left side being rational/ logical and emotional has been proven wrong. The brain works in a very complex manner and multiple parts on both sides are lit/ functioning when doing either a logical or an emotional task.

Suggested correction: She doesn't have her usual skinny figure, but in no way does she show an evident pregnant belly.

Suggested correction: Not valid. Carrie wears multiple dresses along the show, where exactly does this mistake take place?

Boy, girl, boy, girl - S3-E4

Continuity mistake: During this scene when Samantha is confronting her new assistant, the office set-up is completely different than before, when Nina G. was working for her. The assistant office space is much larger, glass desk, different angle, next to small conference room instead of Samantha's office, etc.; obviously not the same office set as previously used. Yet Samantha has not changed offices at all during this time period, as it wasn't too long ago when she fired Nina G. Something as major as changing offices would definitely have been mentioned in the plot (as changing apartments always is); and there hasn't been enough time since she fired Nina G. (00:13:45)

Suggested correction: You're assuming that moving to a new office must be a plot for a new episode, which makes no sense (plus, it's a show that revolves around sex, women, restaurants and bars). Furthermore, the episode you mention is S2E17. Many months have passed and it's perfectly plausible for Sam to move some place else.

Baby, talk is cheap - S4-E6

Audio problem: After Carrie returns from dinner, she is using the computer when suddenly Aiden ("AidenNYC") is shown logging onto her AOL Buddy List (upper right of her computer screen). But for some reason, the show uses an 'IM Chime' sound. When someone logs onto their computer and appears on your Buddy List, it makes a different noise (usually a door-opening sound). The 'IM Chime' sound only happens when someone actually sends you an Instant Message. In this case, Aiden had not IMed Carrie. There was no IM on her screen, and he only appeared on her Buddy List. (00:18:40)

Suggested correction: The sounds for logging on or IM'ing can be changed under the settings.

Because Carrie was brand new to the Internet, she had very little knowledge of how it works. She would not be advanced enough to know about IM settings, or how to change them. (This is clear when she humorously tries to 'hide' from Aiden's IM on screen, thinking he could see her physically). And it isn't likely that she would have changed the settings if she was just starting to use the Internet and had little experience with it. They used the wrong sound on camera.

I heart ny - S4-E18

Continuity mistake: When the horse drawn buggy is pulling over to the curb in front of the hospital, you can see it dodging traffic and cars. But after Carrie leaves and the buggy pulls away with only Mr. Big, suddenly there are no cars or traffic in sight. The entire street from that direction appears to be completely empty. (00:22:50)

Suggested correction: It is not dodging traffic: There are just a couple of cars next to the buggy. She steps off, talks to Big and then he leaves and we get to see two seconds of an empty part of the street. Nothing wrong here.

The real me - S4-E2

Character mistake: Miranda, Charlotte and Carrie are sitting in the cafe waiting for Samantha, when she runs in late, armed with her photos. Just before she'd arrived, a waitress had come to take their order - Carrie ordered a drink but nobody ordered food, but when Samantha offers the photos to look at Miranda says something like "But only till the food arrives." They didn't order any food.

Suggested correction: It's pretty clear that Miranda meant till the food arrives after they order; they were waiting for Samantha to arrive first to order.

An american girl in paris (part deux) - S6-E20

Continuity mistake: In the first shot of the diner as the girls are waiting for Carrie to arrive, the baby photo of Charlotte's daughter is not visible on the table. When Carrie comes in, there is a clear shot of the entire table, and the baby photo is still nowhere in sight. But in the shot where Carrie sits down at the table with the girls, the baby photo is suddenly sitting upright on the table near Charlotte, and fully visible. There was no time for this to happen, as they are just sitting down. Carrie is still hugging her friends (Charlotte) at the table. (00:41:40)

Suggested correction: The scene doesn't take place in real time. When they hug each other at the door the food has not been served. After the hugging it cuts to all four seated and the breakfast already on the plates, with the picture in sight. Therefore, they had plenty of time to see the menu, order, wait for their food and, of course, place the picture on the table.

A vogue idea - S4-E17

Continuity mistake: Right before the '3-way'; Samantha takes off the top of her lingerie/dress and pushes it down to her waist, to reveal a strapless black bra she is wearing underneath. She does this in response to the younger girl removing her top, and they are both obviously getting ready for the main event. But in the next shot when Samantha is kissing Richard in bed, she is suddenly wearing the black lingerie/dress pulled back up over her shoulders again. Why would she put the dress back on, after removing it for sex? (00:23:10)

Suggested correction: That shot of her wearing the dress in bed is not immediate. She could have been foreplaying or he could have asked her to keep the dress on.

An american girl in paris (part une) - S6-E19

Continuity mistake: In one of the deleted scenes for this episode, Carrie has to take her laptop out of her purse in order to make room for the garment. She throws the laptop on the bed, with the 'Apple' symbol facing down. But just after that, the laptop is shown lying on the bed with the 'Apple' symbol facing up. To my knowledge, there is no 'Apple' logo on the bottom of the laptop.

Suggested correction: This is trivia. Deleted scenes lack context and therefore scenes to allow for continuity.

Belles of the balls - S4-E10

Continuity mistake: When Mr. Big comes up to the cabin to talk to Carrie, he isn't wearing glasses. After he drinks too much wine, they decide he has to stay the night at the cabin. Aiden throws him a pillow and blanket. Right when the blanket hits Mr. Big as he is sitting in the chair, you can suddenly see what look like some sort of metal frame glasses hanging vertically/falling off from Mr. Big's face, as if they were knocked off by the blanket. Where did the glasses come from? He wasn't wearing them just before that. (00:24:40)

Suggested correction: The glasses seem to be Aidan's: they were in his blanket and fall off when he tosses it to Big.

Ghost town - S4-E5

Revealing mistake: When Samantha and Maria are in the bath tub arguing; Samantha decides to leave, and suddenly gets up out of the water. She is not wearing anything from the waist up; but if you look closely just at the end of the scene, you can briefly see that Kim Cattrall is actually wearing some sort of minimal dark undergarment below her waist to cover herself. You can see a black strip of material across her hips. (00:11:20)

Suggested correction: I've watched the scene and even paused it and see no black strip. In any case, if slo-mo were needed, the mistake would not be valid.

Trivia: When Samantha runs into Phoebe on the street, Phoebe is really Geri Halliwell, one of the Spice Girls (Ginger Spice). At the same time that they were filming this scene in front of the SoHo House, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and David Beckham were actually inside the SoHo House as well. (00:04:50)
