Continuity mistake: When Ae-sin is in Hui-seong's room, and he is preparing an escape from her, in the shot where Hui-seong starts saying "I don't know if this will work", Ae-sin's hair can be seen going over her left shoulder. The shot cuts to Hui-seong, then when it cuts back to Ae-sin, her hair is now directly on her left shoulder. A couple of shots after that, her hair is suddenly over her left shoulder again. Continuity mistake: When Hui-seong is eating with his father, in the shot where the An-pyeong asks "What did you say", Hui-seong is shown holding a spoon in his hand. The camera then changes angles to focus on Hui-seong, and he is now holding a pair of chopsticks in his hand. (00:34:45)
Continuity mistake: Eugene is leaving the American legation in Japan by sitting on the back of a truck. In the shot of him sitting down, the bottom of his jacket can be seen going over the side of the truck (positioned behind him). When the truck starts to drive away a few seconds later, the bottom of his jacket is now shown hanging over the back of the truck (positioned to the side of him). (00:12:51)
Continuity mistake: When Ae-sin is tending to the wound on Dong-mae's arm, she ties a piece of cloth around the wound. In the close-up of his arm, the knot is tied so that it is facing his sleeve. When the shot cuts, the knot has suddenly rotated 90°. (00:26:29)
Continuity mistake: After a guard is heard shouting "Stop for a moment", Dong-mae is shown watching from a distance. The camera then cuts to a shot of Dong-mae standing beside a building. When it cuts to a closer shot of Dong-mae, a woman suddenly appears in the background walking into the alley way behind him. (00:29:02)
Continuity mistake: When Chun-sik and Il-sik are talking with Nam-jong, they are both eating a corn-on-the-cob. In the shot of her saying "I heard that you do anything people need done", the cob that Chun-sik is holding is away from his face. But in the next shot, he is suddenly eating the cob. (00:40:32)
Continuity mistake: When Eugene is hiding inside the rickshaw after being rescued by the rebels, just as he says "She's injured", he is shown holding a gun, but his fingers are not placed on the magazine. When it cuts to a closer shot of him, his fingers are suddenly placed over the magazine. (00:17:14)
Continuity mistake: When the general is pointing his gun at Deok-mun after realising that he was lying about the rebel they found being deaf-mute, just as Deok-mun says "He's willing to tell us everything", his left hand is pointing left towards the rebel on the ground. In the next shot, his hand is raised to be level with his chin. Then in the shot after that, his left hand is lowered. (01:12:33)
Continuity mistake: When the general shoots the elderly rebel, there is a huge blood stain left on his clothes where the left-hand side of his upper chest is located. When he collapses on the ground in the next shot, the blood stain has suddenly disappeared from his clothing. (01:13:23)
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Haengrang and Ms. Haman are walking through the village, just as Ms. Haman says "That's the only thing that bothers me", one of the ribbons used to tie Haengrang's hat can be seen lightly blowing in the wind. In the next shot, the ribbon is completely still. (01:13:42)
Revealing mistake: After Mr. Haengrang and Ms. Haman are shot by the Japanese soldiers, there are visible blood stains on their clothing from the wounds they would have sustained. But there are no bullet holes shown on the blooded part of their clothing, which is where the bullets would have hit. (01:17:49)
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Haengrang starts to collapse after getting shot, a blood stain can be seen beginning to form on one side of his chest. Three shots after this, two tiny drops of blood have suddenly appeared on his shoulder and upper sleeve (on the opposite side of his chest) that were not there a few seconds earlier. (01:17:49)
Revealing mistake: When Ms. Haman is shot by the soldiers, the moment that the gunshot that hits her is heard, and she is shot, there is already a massive, thick blood stain on her dress from where she is bleeding from. No gunshot wound on the planet can create an amount of blood that massive or thick in an instant. The blood stain was likely applied to her dress before filming the shot. (01:17:52)
Other mistake: When Mr. Haengrang is lying on the ground after being shot, there are tiny drops of blood visible on his face, presumably blood splatter after getting shot. However, when he was shot just seconds earlier, all the gunshot wounds he received remained inside his clothing and there was no blood splatter of any kind shown, so there is no way any blood could have splattered on his face. Other mistake: After Haengrang and Haman have succumbed to their wounds and died, a puddle of blood can be seen in between the two of them. The problem is, this puddle of blood doesn't appear to be emerging from anywhere. The blood shown on the ground would have come from their wounds (and would have formed the puddle of blood), but the puddle isn't connected to either of their bodies. (01:19:40)
Continuity mistake: After Hui-seong takes the photos of all the officials, the scene cuts to the dead guy lying on the floor. There is a small puddle of blood forming on the floor. When the shot cuts to reveal Eugene is in the room, the puddle of blood is much bigger. (00:02:15)
Continuity mistake: Eugene finds the list of Righteous Army members, folds it up and puts it in his jacket pocket. In the shot of him putting the list in his pocket, both his left hand (holding onto the jacket) and his right hand (putting the list into his pocket) are level with each other. In the next shot, someone walks into the room and his hands don't change position. When the shot cuts back to Eugene, his left hand is much lower down than the right. (00:02:25)
Continuity mistake: When Dong-mae is lying on the ground and about to die, there in an extreme close-up of his right eye (shown from the side), where we can see a bloodied tear next to his eye. This bloodied tear cannot be seen in any other shot of his face. (00:44:55)
Continuity mistake: When Hui-seong is burying the box of photos, whilst he is holding the shovel, we can see his left hand is positioned around a foot below the top of the shovel. A couple seconds later, when Nam-jong approaches him, there is a quick shot where we can see his left hand is suddenly touching the top of the shovel. (00:57:00)
Continuity mistake: When Chun-sik and Il-sik find the stopwatch Hui-seong left for them to pay his rent with, the watch is shown being held against Il-sik's fingertips with his hand opened out. In the next shot, Il-sik's hand is suddenly clenched shut. (01:28:16)
