Factual error: When Jimmy is in Tucumcari, New Mexico, there is a shot of him talking to Kim and in the distance there is a mountain range. Those are the Manzano Mountains, which are over 150 miles away from Tucumcari. Not only that, besides one small mountain south of the town, no major ranges can be seen from the town at all. Also, they're not even on the right side of the mountains. The side that is shown is the western face of the range, Tucumcari is east of those mountains.
Factual error: A copy of Jordan B Peterson's book 12 Rules for Life can be seen in the shot when Mike goes to a library. This book came out in 2019 and the show is meant to take place in the early 2000s. (00:21:07)
Factual error: When Jimmy is dropping his ice cream as he enters Nacho's car, a third-generation Land Rover Discovery can be seen turning in the background. The episode takes place in 2004, but the third-generation Discovery did not go into production until 2017. (00:44:12)
Continuity mistake: Jimmy buys three bowling balls in the second-hand shop and walks out with them in a small carry bag. He tosses three balls over the fence at Howard's car, but then later he is shown in his kitchen with Kim destroying one bowling ball in the same little satchel.
Continuity mistake: In the scene after Jimmy/Saul and Mike in the desert with the seven mil, they are each sitting on one of the duffel bags of money at the gas station. Mike puts his big drink up to his head and his watch reads 6:35 but in the next shot it reads 3:00.
Continuity mistake: Jimmy gets ambushed. One gang member holds a gun close to Jimmy's face, but in the next shot the guy is way further away from him and not even visible in the shot when Jimmy gets splattered with blood.
Something Unforgivable - S5-E10
Factual error: The Ferrari Lalo gifted Don Eladio was from 1983 but that key was modern with a push button to open the hood, that would not have been the key for a 1983 Ferrari.
Factual error: When Bill Oakley is selecting chips from the vending machine, the bag he chooses has the nutrition facts label that was updated in 2016. This episode is set in the early 2000s.
Continuity mistake: The scene with the fake address was shot on two different days. The sky is cloudy and it appears to be raining or snowing earlier in the sequence. By the end, it's sunny.
Answer: It is my opinion that you should absolutely watch Breaking Bad first. If you did not know, Better Call Saul takes place before the events of Breaking Bad. At the time I am posting this, BCS is mid-way through season 5, with season 6 on the way perhaps in a year. So if you binge Better Call Saul now, you would not be able to "flow" right into Breaking Bad. To me, it's better to watch in the order that they came out. Breaking Bad was a phenomenal show, and now watching Better Call Saul, it is fun to watch the events unfold and start to lead up to what we saw in BB. Enjoy.
