Continuity mistake: The front car has an extension towards the top front showing the train’s number, 07. This is only on the front car, and the other 3 cars of the train do not have this. But after Tony busts through the first car and blasts the connection between it and the second car, you see that the extension and 07 are suddenly at the top of the second car. But as soon as the lead car breaks away and the camera changes angles and pulls back, the second car no longer has the extension. (00:20:05)

Continuity mistake: As Tony is trying to stop the train by pushing on it with the Iron Man suit, you see the fingers of his right hand are outstretched fully and his hand flat against the door, with his pinkie right on the line between the black door and white wall of the train. It then cuts to a close up of his hand and suddenly his fingers are curled and his pinkie not anywhere close to the white part of the train. (00:19:45)

Continuity mistake: When Tony and Rhodey first go to Tony’s secret lab, there are numbers on doors around a circular wall in the lab. When they go in, the number 2 is behind the spot with the chamber holding the Iron Man armor. When Tony lowers the chamber holding the armor, the walls spin to have the number 4 behind that spot. But when Tony gets in the armor and the chamber goes up, the number 2 is now there again. (00:14:35 - 00:15:55)

Continuity mistake: Tony walks by some people in the Stark Lounge, and from a high angle their shadows are seen. The shadows are very close to the people’s feet, showing the light source is almost totally overhead. A couple shots later, you see behind Tony as he is walking, the same people in almost the same spot, with their shadows extended out further, as if the light source has moved several feet in front of them, but while they are still inside the building. Continuity mistake: As Tony is attempting to stop the train, the door he is pushing on gives out - he flies through the first car of the train and smashes into the next door. As he is getting up, you see the window of the door is a perfect square. Then the angle changes from outside and suddenly the window design changes, having an additional shape extending from the bottom right corner. (00:19:55)

Continuity mistake: When Tony says he has to stop the train from hitting the building’s power generators, the camera zooms in on a train car at the entrance of Stark Tower by the tracks that has the generators on it, and there are two Stark International employees standing on the balcony beside it dressed fully in white. Only a couple seconds later, Tony flies down there to cut off the train, and suddenly the two guys have vanished. (00:18:00)

Continuity mistake: As Rhodey and Tony are walking by a building, Rhodey tells Tony to not worry, as in two years he can fire Stane. The first view shows their shadows directly under them, like the sun is at its zenith. It then cuts to a shot from above their heads and now their shadows are elongated and cast on the wall beside them. (00:09:35)

Continuity mistake: When Tony shows Rhodey the secret lab he’s been fixing up, Rhodey walks in and Tony is leaning against a large computer console. Behind him is a long white screen with blueprints shown, and on the far right is a blue spinning gear like thing in the blueprints. The camera cuts to a different angle as Rhodey walks up and the blueprints change, most noticeably having the gear diagram vanish. (00:14:15)

Continuity mistake: Tony goes off to a warehouse with Rhodey and opens a secret entrance. The shot before the door opens shows Tony’s shadow is directly under him. A couple of shots later, Tony being in the same spot, his shadow is then elongated showing the light source has altered. Also, oddly enough, the mechanical structure he is next to casts no shadow. Continuity mistake: Right in the beginning, Tony is showing off his Iron Man armor to Rhodey and looks up after doing some welding. In the first shot, the welding mask is barely casting any shadows on his face, mostly towards his forehead. But then it cuts to a different angle and now the shadow comes all the way down past his eyes and on the bridge of his nose. (00:00:30)

Continuity mistake: After Tony says he is going to use the Iron Man armor to spy on Stane, he and Rhodey goof off some and wrestle. In the first shot of this, you see Rhodey’s arm come on camera and grab Tony’s, as Tony moves his hand up towards his own face. When he does, his arm and hand cast a shadow on his neck and chest. The shot cuts to a side view and suddenly the shadow has completely vanished. (00:15:00)

Continuity mistake: After separating the front car from the rest of the train, Tony attempts to stop the train from hitting some civilian cars on the road. First it shows a traffic jam with a single taxi right in the middle of it all. The taxi driver pops his head out the window and yells "Come on!" at the other cars. In this shot, he is not wearing a hat. But moments later as the train comes over the edge and Tony catches it in the Iron Man suit, the taxi driver steps out of his car to look up in fear, and suddenly he is wearing a green ball cap. Continuity mistake: On his first flight with the Iron Man armor, Tony loses control trying to avoid a building and falls towards the road. As he is regaining his flight, the car he is heading right at is a gray vehicle. It then cuts to a close up from the reverse angle as Tony avoids the car and it suddenly becomes a yellow taxi as it swerves and stops in the road at an angle. Then the shot changes again as Tony is flying away and now the taxi has turned into a purple car. (00:16:40)

Continuity mistake: As Tony is first flying up with his Iron Man armor, the box opens in the tunnel and he flies out of it. In the tunnel there are two large orange light lines running along with it. They are not at opposite ends of the tunnel, one being at about 12 o clock, the other being at about 8. When the shot changes, suddenly the lines are at opposite ends, 12 and 6 o clock. (00:16:00)

Continuity mistake: As Rhodey tells the guard "You know. As in Stark International, the company you work for!" As he begins saying this, he raises his arm up, which casts a shadow on his chest. While he speaks, it cuts to a side angle and suddenly the shadow from his raised arm is gone. (00:07:05)

Continuity mistake: When Tony and Rhodey are talking to the guard, trying to get into Stark International, there is a shot showing a woman walking away from them in a black skirt. A couple of shots later, the woman has disappeared and instead a couple is walking towards them holding hands. (00:07:20)

Continuity mistake: Tony and Rhodey are confronting a guard outside Stark International, and in the first shot of the guard, his chest is fully light up by the sunlight. Continuity mistake: When Obadiah walks in Howard’s office, complaining that Howard rejected his proposal to repurpose the Earth Movers for military application, he is holding a folder in his hand marked confidential. There is a white label on it, and the tab is towards the upper right corner near his head. A few shots later, the folder is completely turned around, the white label and confidential stamp facing the other direction, with the tab by his legs now. (00:02:50)

Continuity mistake: When Tony first walks in on Howard, Howard is looking through some hologram blueprints. He is talking to someone on his earpiece that at this point appears to be solid white with no extra components as it glows slightly purple from the hologram lights. A couple shots later as Tony walks up behind him, Howard’s earpiece is now black with lights and indentations on it. (00:02:25)

Continuity mistake: As Tony is walking over a wooded floor, there is a plant behind a yellow couch in the lounge, and the plant appears to be an orangish brown color. A few shots later as Tony is walking, you see the same plant behind him which is now green. (00:02:05)
