Corrected entry: During the final battle, some Na'vi warriors shoot bows through the cockpit windows of several helicopters, killing the pilots. The same arrows also bounce clean off Colonel Quaritch's fighter in the earlier battle.

BlueCell

Correction: There are key differences between the Hometree battle and the battle in the mountains to take into consideration. In the first fight, the arrows are hitting the glass at a rather poor angle and only bounce off the glass or simply chip it as a result. However, the arrows shot at the glass in the mountain battle are at a much more optimal angle of almost 90% and allows for much more force to be transferred to the glass. Finally, the Ikran riders are diving at likely close to terminal velocity when they shoot their bows, unlike the archers from the first fight who are stationary; a key difference in the velocity of the arrows.

Sussudio

Correction: In the mountain battle, they are much closer to the airships, increasing the chance of a direct hit.

Corrected entry: During the big bombing of the tree, Michelle Rodriguez refuses to take part and steers the helicopter away, stating that she does not want to be part of that. Even in the distant future, such behaviour would be called insubordination and have her court-martialed. However, she is still able to free Jake and has access to the helicopters in the hangar.

BlueCell

Correction: They are employees of a private company and would not be court martialed. They all work for RDA.

Court-Martial or Suspension with possible Firing, she is still disobeying orders of some sort, in a combat situation (there are security companies powerful enough to constitute private armies, with similar rules, regs and discipline), and would therefore be punished in some form all the same.

dizzyd

Who says she was not punished? Maybe she got reprimanded.

2012 (2009)

Corrected entry: When John Cusack picks up his family (plus the new husband) to escape from the ensuing mayhem, there is a scene where the limo uses a piece of broken concrete in the street as a ramp, so that the whole car is airborne for one or two seconds. In that shot you can see that the front tires are not moving at all.

BlueCell

Correction: The front wheels ARE moving but stop rather quickly a second after the car gets airborne. Since the back wheels are turning normally, however, one might suggest that the car has a rear wheel drive.

Correction: It is a rear wheel drive. The limousine is a Lincoln Town Car, which according to Wikipedia, is RWD.

Corrected entry: Wally says he got blind because a drunk driver hit him when he was a kid. As a kid he should have seen that he was black. So his surprise about not being white at the beginning of the movie makes no sense.

BlueCell

Correction: He was not surprised to be black. He was joking.

2012 (2009)

Corrected entry: There are two scenes in which a plane narrowly manages to take off before the ground collapses into the depths of Earth. The problem with these scenes is that those holes would not only swallow the surface, they would also suck in air. Without enough altitude nor enough velocity a plane would therefore be pulled into the new craters. That's why helicopters and small planes are instructed to avoid open-pit mines. And those are just static holes.

BlueCell

Correction: Already submitted and corrected. The continents are breaking apart because the earth's mantle is heating up. The huge land mass falls into the heated mantle; the heated gasses would rise rapidly, counteracting the effects of the downdraught. Indeed, the plane does lose some altitude immediately after the collapse, then is able to climb again shortly after. As for the velocity, you are making an assumption to say that the plane was not going fast enough.

Corrected entry: After switching sides, Jake and his crew escape into an area with heavy magnetic distortions so that they can not be detected. This area is also safe from cruise missiles due to the interferences. However, Jake has no problems using the portal to get into his Avatar.

BlueCell

Correction: The cruise missiles are susceptible to interference from magnetic distortions. Jake communicates with his Avatar through a neural link, obviously a technology that does not have the same limitations as the missiles.

Corrected entry: In the final battle, the human soldiers are about to drop a bomb on the Tree of Souls, when their ship is taken down by Jake. The ship crashes and explodes along with the bomb. However, the Tree of Souls remains untouched by the explosion as if the ship crashed miles away.

BlueCell

Correction: When Jake explodes the intake valve on one side of the ship it goes completely off course and crashes a significant distance from the tree of souls; the tree survived.

BocaDavie

Corrected entry: When Hans Landa surrenders to Aldo at the end of the movie, he is handcuffed behind his back. Moments later a swastika is carved into his forehead. During Landa's agony you see his hand ripping out grass out of the earth. Not only do you see one uncuffed hand, but it also is not hidden under his back even though he is lying on the ground face-up. Surely, his handcuffs were not removed for the little torture.

BlueCell

Correction: You are speculating that they wouldn't remove the handcuffs. That's not to say they didn't.

Crank (2006)

Corrected entry: Chev falls for about one minute and a half in the ending scene. That suggests he fell from an altitude where it is cold enough for your breath to be seen. However, Chev's and Verona's breath is never seen before plummeting down.

BlueCell

Correction: It's not temperature alone that causes this effect; the humidity level also plays a part. The conditions apparently weren't right.

Phixius

Corrected entry: A little time paradox: It is stated that Kyle Reese is on top of the list of people marked for death. This would mean that his importance for the future is already known by SkyNet. However, it's highly unlikely that John Connor notified SkyNet of what role Kyle Reese is going to play in the future.

BlueCell

Correction: It doesn't mean anything of the sort. It's entirely plausible that Skynet could discover that Connor is interested in Reese, by, say, interrogating a captured resistance fighter. Connor's interest alone would be enough to put Reese on Skynet's priority target list, without it having to have any foreknowledge of his destiny. No paradox there.
