Trivia: Peter Barton was hesitant when it came time to do his death scene, as he was previously burned by a magnesium flare doing a stunt on a previous film and required multiple surgeries afterwards. Sensing Peter's hesitation, Ted White requested that a pad be placed behind Peter's head when he was slammed into the shower wall.

Trivia: The rat-sized mechanic robots on the Axiom are designated REM-E, in reference to Remy, the lead character from Pixar's previous film Ratatouille.
Trivia: The original poster for the film had Jason ripping through an "I Love New York" poster. They had to remove the poster from theaters and change it quickly, due to complaints from the New York Tourism Committee.

Trivia: Originally, the film was supposed to pick up where the ending of the previous film left off. Tommy Jarvis is taken to the same hospital as Jason's body. While trying to get to the morgue, he murders seven people on the staff. When he arrives, he finds Jason's body rising from the table. The adult Tommy then wakes up in the van, on his way to Pinehurst.

Trivia: There are three different hockey masks used either in this film or its advertisements. The first is the one that the Jason impostor (Roy) wears. It has two blue triangles below the eyes. The second is the one the real Jason wears when Tommy sees him in the hospital room at the end, with the red triangles. The third is featured on the poster.
