Continuity mistake: When Zane tricks Cleo into getting into his zodiac and then setting it adrift, Cleo's pigtail changes position between cuts. In the back shot, it is flat on her back. In the side shot, it is touching her shoulder. (00:02:07)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Col. Hessler is visited by a courtesan, he refuses her "services", opens the door and hands her her fur coat. In the next shot, the door is closed again and the colonel still has the courtesan's fur coat. (00:42:50)

Visible crew/equipment: When two of the characters are driving around the "deserted" town, someone can be seen peeking out of the window of a house. (00:39:11)

Visible crew/equipment: When Braddock jumps from the helicopter, the pilot is seen in the doorway. (00:05:26)

Trivia: Author and writer of the book and script William Peter Blatty has a cameo early in this film. He plays the producer trying to have a word with director Burke Dennings on the movie set before Burke turns his attention to Chris MacNeil. William Peter Blatty is the middle eastern-looking guy with the black hair and moustache, which is natural since his mother is originally from Lebanon.

Visible crew/equipment: At the surrender of the fort, as the English are marching out, Monroe, says "The fort is yours, Monsieur." Right as he speaks, look between the two horses' heads. In the distant valley you can see what are either two tourist busses or perhaps mobile catering vans. (01:05:40)

Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the film where Charlie watches Dandridge and Cole move the coffin into their house, there is a close-up shot of Amy removing her blouse. The film then cuts to a close-up again of Charlie and in the background Amy's blouse is still on (probably only visible in the widescreen version of the film). (00:05:20)
