Factual error: Abby gets out of the train via the driver's door. You see a front view of the train. The number on the train is 321434. This train runs on overhead lines, and it is being shown as a Gatwick Express train from Gatwick Airport to Victoria. The railway from Gatwick to Victoria has a third rail conductor, so this Class 321 train would not have been able to move. (00:50:02)

Factual error: When the stolen freight train is braking, the air pipe becomes disconnected. This should trigger the brakes on the train, but the train keeps going with no brakes. Continuity mistake: In the car chase at the beginning of the episode, Earl Mayfield's pick up smashes into the SUV driven by Conrad Weaver. Part of the bumper comes adrift and is seen hanging low. When Weaver's SUV flips over, Mayfield turns around and drives back up to him. As he approaches the bumper has reattached itself. (00:01:00)

Other mistake: During the opening sequence. Sadie Buckingham walks out of Smithfield market, walks down St John's Street, Cawcross Street, then up Greenhouse Rents. This is a dead end. She next appears walking along Jerome street where she is murdered. After the titles DCI Luther walks down through the police cordon and meets Martin. In the background is Godfrey Phillips Ltd, which is a company at the junction of Commercial Street and Jerome Street. This is a 30 minute walk from Smithfield. Luther then says "is he having a joke... slaughtered like cattle next to a meat market".

When Inspector George Gently and Bacchus are questioning the girls on top of the "TV" studio the High Level Bridge is in the background and there are overhead electric masts on the bridge.
