Corrected entry: Raka says that they call all humans "Nova." This would make sense if this movie took place after Taylor's appearance (in the original, 1968 movie), as the apes could have adopted Taylor's name for the human he paired up with, and applied to all humans. BUT, this movie takes place, chronologically, long before Taylor arrives. So the inclusion of the name Nova in this movie was probably just a nod to the original, but logically very farfetched in its coincidence. Or someone really screwed up.

Correction: First, this is a reboot and doesn't take place in the original film series universe. Second, Nova was the name of the deaf girl in the rebooted film "War for the Planet of the Apes" and accompanied and helped Caesar. Her real name was unknown and when they came across a Chevy Nova, that inspired the name used for her. It's should be noted that "Nova" comes from the original book, so every film adaptation uses as a nod to the book.
