Continuity mistake: During the brunch scene with Natalie's parents, the rolls in the bread bowl change position several times. In some shots, there are four, in others, there are five. They also go from being piled on top of each other to being arranged in the bowl and back several times. They're out of Monk's reach, so he's not just "making them even" either. Continuity mistake: The location of Trudy's grave changes throughout the series. In "Mr. Monk and the Candidate," it's in a spot in the graveyard by a paved intersection. In "Mr. Monk and the Red-Headed Stranger," it's in the midst of a copse of trees. In "Mr. Monk and the Three Pies," it's just off the cemetery's main drive.

Continuity mistake: When Monk is in the review board hearing, in long shots, the wastebasket by the board members' table is empty. When one of the reviewers throws away a paper that misses the basket and lands right next to it, there are several papers already in it. In the next long shot and for the rest of the scene, the basket is empty again and the missed paper is at least two feet away. (00:06:15 - 00:07:40)

Continuity mistake: When Monk is trying to get out of the Captain's car, Randy is trying to get his wheelchair out of the trunk. In the shots from the rear of the car, Randy is directly behind the vehicle. In the shots from the front, Randy is a few feet away. (00:18:00 - 00:19:00)

Continuity mistake: In "Mr. Monk On Wheels," after Monk gets out of the car, when he closes the door while standing on his unshot leg, he's facing the front of the vehicle. In the next shot, from behind the car, he's facing the rear of the vehicle without having turned around. (00:18:55)

Continuity mistake: When Monk is trying to convince the old woman to use the other pen so the ink in them will be even, in the shots from behind him, the pen's chain is hanging down below the counter. In the shots from in front of him, the chain is pulled taught. (00:23:45 - 00:24:15)

Continuity mistake: When Monk and Natalie are talking to Kemp in his office, the desk ornament and the cup of pencils that Monk keeps organizing change positions between shots. In the shots from Monk's side of the desk, the ornament is closer to the door. In the shots from Kemp's side, the pencil cup is closer. (00:09:40 - 00:11:20)

Continuity mistake: When Monk is trying to join the two cops' conversation about football, in the shots from the side of the police car that they're standing near, the two cops are standing less than a foot apart. In the shots from the other side of the car, they're far apart enough for Monk, Natalie, and Captain Stottlemeyer to stand between them. (00:03:00 - 00:05:00)

Continuity mistake: When Monk is telling Captain Stottlemeyer about Trudy's death, he says that by the time he got there, she wasn't even able to speak, that she held his hand and died. However, in "Mr. Monk Meets Dale the Whale," we learn that Trudy's last words were "Bread and butter," and that she said them to Adrian right before she died.

Continuity mistake: Sharona tells her sister that Monk needs the guest room because he "doesn't sleep on couches," but in "Mr. Monk and the Marathon Man," she had to stop him from taking a nap on the victim's couch. (00:15:15)
