Correction: In terms of the running time, the timer goes over 15 minutes, but that is not the same for within the context of the movie. There are three different stories going on within the finale: Ethan chasing Walker in the helicopter to retrieve the detonator, Benji and Ilsa trying to find the bomb and fighting off Lane and Luther and Julia trying to deactivate the other bomb. All of these events are occurring at more or less the exact same moment as each other, but are edited together so the viewer gets to see each storyline going on, so the amount of time that passes in the movie appears as if it is longer than it actually is, when in the context of the movie, is actually is closer to the 15 minutes on the timer.
