Corrected entry: In the scene where Cade, Tessa and Share are on the wires, Lockdown's wolves start chewing off the cables. Shane then falls off and is hanging on the cable. Next shot, Bumblebee comes and then the wolves cut the cables, then in the next shot you see Shane fall and hanging on again.

Correction: They don't show Shane fall twice and hang by the cables. When the wolves are chewing on the cables, he is thrown around and looses his balance. He still continues to be thrown around when Bumblebee shows up. Which stays consistent.

Corrected entry: When Lando says "You're being put into carbon freeze" to Han, the words don't match his mouth movements.

Correction: Watch it more carefully. His lip movements do match. He's whispering to Han as to not be to loud, so you don't see his lips moving as much.

I, Robot (2004)

Corrected entry: In the scenes where Lanning's house is being demolished with Spooner still inside, on two occasions Spooner scoops up Lanning's cat while running. First, cats are terrified of loud noise and the cat would have bolted as soon as the demo robot turned on with the floodlights shining through the windows. Also, no terrified cat would be OK with being held the way Spooner (a total stranger) was holding the cat while running. The cat would have clawed at Spooner until Spooner let it go.

Correction: Cats don't always just bolt when they are startled. I own 2 cats and they will often just freeze in one spot, looking scared, when they hear a loud noise. Also, the cat won't automatically scratch at someone who picks them up. Cat's aren't robots and there is no rule to say how a cat will react under stress or fear. The 2 cats I have react very differently from one another.

The Thing (1982)

Other mistake: When Doc uses a computer to watch/simulate dog cells being assimilated by a "thing" cell, we can see a single cell fusing with multiple dog cells to imitate them. This process would lead to the dog being digested until it remains only one cell, and not to the replacement of all of its cells by the imitators. (00:40:30 - 00:41:25)

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: The computer simulation isn't showing just one cell taking over an entire dog, but showing how the creature can get the genetic makeup of whatever it touches and replicate it perfectly.

envisaged0ne

I think it's fair to consider this a goof. John Carpenter states on the director's commentary his goal through this sequence was to demonstrate the life cycle of the Thing, and acknowledges that the visual isn't accurate for that purpose.

TonyPH

Pretty much the entire rest of the movie unfolds as though the simulation showcased the Thing spreading / multiplying: it's followed by text saying the entire human population could become "infected" after a certain amount of time; it's not until after this scene that anyone besides Blair is worried that one or more of them has been taken over. It's a valid movie mistake because the movie itself seems to assume the audience saw something different than what was actually shown.

Corrected entry: In the last quarter of the movie Kirk is beaming on board the "bird of prey" and Doc Gillian is clasping him so she beams on board too. She wants to travel into the future and tricks Kirk out. So long so good, but why is Kirk beaming on board in the first place? One minute earlier the sick Checkov and 3 other crew members walked in using the ship's ramp. Did they close the ramp knowing that Kirk is still standing outside? And the trick with clasping Kirk is OK, but they could just as easily beam her out again or kick her out using the ramp.

Goekhan

Correction: It's plausible that they started to close the ramp as they boarded the ship, presuming Kirk was walking right behind them & wasn't going to stop to talk to Dr Gillian. It's also plausible that Kirk, being distracted by Gillian's insistence to come aboard, grabbed his communicator to beam up since that was 2nd nature for him. Or he simply didn't want to walk up the ramp, fearing she'd just follow him in. Then he underestimated her leaping onto him during a beam up. As for them just beaming her back to the park, they would wait for Kirk's order, but he gave in & decided she would be beneficial to them if she stayed aboard, thus never giving the order.

envisaged0ne

Correction: There's any number of reasons the ramp could've been down (loading things for the aquarium) but I always took it as he stayed behind to say goodbye and that they wouldn't want the ramp open for too long in broad daylight, so he beamed up. I also took it that when she grabbed on that was showing she had feelings for him as well and that's why he didn't kick her out.

Corrected entry: When the 'Bounty' materializes above the whaling ship, the close-up of the captain and navigator frantically turning the ship around reveal that only the captain has his hands on the wheel; the navigator is flapping his hands in the air rather than helping turn the wheel of the whaling ship.

Correction: The navigator is freaking out, seeing a giant space ship materialize in front of him. He's obviously not thinking straight, thinking he's turning the wheel. If something like that happened to an ordinary person, they probably wouldn't know what they were doing either.

Corrected entry: If the Rebels had this large fleet of ships and fighters (as seen at the end of the film) then why wasn't this fleet there to defend the home base on Hoth against the imperial attack?

Correction: Those weren't battle ships. They were medical frigates, supply ships, etc. There were only a few x-wing fighters flying around. Wouldn't have been much of a fight against the empire.

Corrected entry: In the final fight between Spock and Khan, you see them hitting each other on top of a ship/shuttle, and then one after the other, both jump on top of another ship/shuttle passing below. When Spock jumps, on landing he rolls backwards and almost falls off the shuttle. When climbing back up, Khan realizes this and starts running towards Spock to kick him, which he does. In the next shot, Spock is thrown back from the kick, however he is not on the ship's edge but several feet towards its middle, with no time to have got there.

Correction: Watch the scene carefully. Spock pulls himself up and is on his knees when Khan notices him. Khan starts to run towards Spock. Spock quickly starts to crawl towards Khan. They meet towards the middle when Khan kicks Spock. Spock partially blocks it with his arms, but still gets knocked back. When they show Spock get thrown back, he's exactly where he should be on the shuttle.

Corrected entry: As soon as the Vengeance's weapons fail to destroy the Enterprise, Scotty was revealed to have gone to engineering and turned off the shields. Scotty then phones Kirk to beam him back to the Enterprise and Kirk points out the Enterprise is low on power. Scotty then replies "What do you mean? Low on power? What happened to the Enterprise?" How did Scotty not know that the Vengeance damaged the Enterprise? As the Enterprise and Vengeance were fighting in mid-warp earlier on, the Vengeance kept blasting the Enterprise, knocking it out of warp. If Scotty was in engineering the entire time, he should have been aware of the fact that the Vengeance's weapons were currently in use whilst the Enterprise was right next to it. (01:20:50)

Casual Person

Correction: Scotty was hiding the whole time. So he wasn't out in the open, looking at the monitors to determine what was going on. Since no one fired on the Vengeance, he would not have been able to tell that there was a battle going on. He didn't come out of hiding until after the Enterprise was crippled by the Vengeance.

Corrected entry: When Kirk left the bridge to lead the away team to Kronos, he gave the conn to Sulu. It only took a short moment for Sulu to walk from his seat to the captain's chair, but in that short time frame Kirk and company had somehow managed to change into civilian wardrobe and make their way to the shuttle bay hanger.

Teru_Kage

Correction: They don't show every second of everything that's going on. They're not going to show the entire time it takes the team to change clothes. Or everything Sulu might be doing in that time frame.

TRON: Legacy (2010)

Corrected entry: If CLU's plan was to lure Sam into the Grid to draw out Kevin, then why did he try to kill Sam in the light cycle arena? Sam would have been much more valuable to him alive. Even worse, Sam was almost killed by Rinzler because nobody knew at the time that Sam was a User. Shouldn't CLU have been monitoring the portal for Sam's entry? If CLU's plan was merely to get Sam to open the portal, and the movie stated that the portal could only remain open for a limited time, then wouldn't it have been better to obtain Kevin's disc first?

Teru_Kage

Correction: Two plausible reasons why he wanted to kill Sam. 1) Even if he killed Sam, Flynn would eventually hear about it and go after CLU, which is what CLU wanted. It would give Flynn a reason to come out of hiding. 2) CLU has a very strong emotional hatred towards Flynn (as evident when he discovers Flynn's hideout). So he may have originally planned to keep Sam as a prisoner, but his hatred overcame him and he decided he wanted to kill Sam instead, to punish Flynn.

TRON: Legacy (2010)

Corrected entry: The Programs on the Grid have developed all sorts of new weaponry such as swords and fighting staffs, so why do they still use the Identity Disc as a throwing weapon? Loss of the disc results in "immediate de-resolution", so it makes no sense the Programs would want to toss them around.

Teru_Kage

Correction: CLU and his henchman have set up the games. The prisoners have no choice but to play the games by their rules. Thus some game rules require them to use their discs whether they'd want to or not.

Corrected entry: When Jack is trying to break into the car he is breaking into a Maserati Quattroporte. They finally break in and find the stock of weapons but in the next scene the car they are driving is a Maybach 62/64.

TheDavidMHolmes

Correction: The car they end up stealing isn't the same one they find the weapons in.

Corrected entry: When Optimus tells everyone about the Ark, at one point, we get a close up of Ironhide. This shows his right eye is badly damaged, in such a way that it's shut. But when we get to the Mexican standoff, both of his eyes are wide open. And when he says "class dismissed", it's shut again. (00:28:10 - 01:09:05)

Friso94

Correction: Ironhide's right eye is smaller than his left eye. This has been consistent in all 3 Transformers movies. It's more noticeable on close-ups, but it's always been like that.

Corrected entry: In the final scenes when Sentinel is fighting with some of the Autobots, you can see his sword and his shield knocked out of his hands, so he resorts to his gun, but when he's is shooting around, a solider with rocket launcher floors him. He then instantly crawls away on all fours and transforms, then when Optimus tackles him he has his sword and shield again almost instantly! How could Sentinel have grabbed his sword and shield in the same amount of time as him falling to the ground? And then have it already in hand in his final battle with Optimus.

starscreamf15

Correction: Watch the scene more carefully. 1st, the sword & shield aren't knocked out of his hands. He puts them down and switches to his gun. Then, when Sentinel is about to transform & drive away, he grabs his sword with his right hand, and the shield with his left.

Superman III (1983)

Corrected entry: When Superman is freezing the lake to extinguish the fire, he picks up the giant block of ice. As we see in a wide shot, it looks like no water was removed from the lake. Shouldn't the lake be empty now?, or at least a lot of water would be gone.

Dragon

Correction: Superman doesnt try to freeze the whole lake. just the surface. You can even tell this by when he picks it up. It's a thin layer coming from the top. So he didn't take all that much. Just enough to take out the fires.

Superman III (1983)

Corrected entry: When Evil Superman is flying towards the tanker it's real, but in the close up you can easily tell how fake it is. The producers probably wanted to avoid damaging the real tanker so they made a fake still model.

Correction: Watching that scene carefully, there is no obvious signs that it's fake. Looks real to me.

Superman II (1980)

Corrected entry: Marlon Brando was offered the opportunity to reprise his role as Jor-El from the first film, but he was unwilling to reprise his role for this film. As a result, we only see his hand at the beginning of Superman II, and we see only Superman's mom in the recap footage from Superman. Later in the movie, we only see Superman's mom in the crystal recordings for the same reason.

Correction: Marlon Brando had already shot all of his scenes for Superman II. Since Superman 1 & 2 were shot back to back, they had him do all his scenes at once because he was only available for a short amount of time. However, when Lester took over as director, the studio didn't want to pay Brando the high price to put those scenes in, so they were cut. The scenes were later put back in for the Richard Donner cut released on DVD.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Sam and Mikaela are running away from the Decepticons after being captured, you see Bumblebee with Sam already in the car with his arm hanging out the window. Next scene, you see him running to Bumblebee and opening the driver's side door. As Bumblebee drives off, you see Sam's arm hanging out again.

chugga

Correction: Sam never gets into Bumblebee. He rides with Optimus. They go to the forest. Megatron attacks Optimus as Sam runs & hides. Leo & Mikaela get into Bumblebee.
