Trivia: Although he was intended to be the MCU's next major antagonist, season 2 of this show marked Jonathan Majors' final portrayal of variants of Kang, as Marvel dropped him from the role following a guilty verdict he received in December 2023 for assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend.

Trivia: The first and last episodes of this series are both called "Glorious Purpose". This can effectively be seen as a snake eating its own tail, also known as an ouroboros, which plays into the final episode's frequent use of time loops.

Trivia: Towards the end of the episode, Mobius mentions that a He Who Remains variant was defeated in an Earth 616-adjacent realm. This is a reference to the events of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Science/Fiction - S2-E5

Trivia: We learn in this episode that prior to being abducted by the TVA, Casey was an inmate at Alcatraz named Frank. This is Frank Morris, whose story was the subject of the 1979 film Escape from Alcatraz, starring Clint Eastwood. He and two of his fellow inmates managed to escape the prison, but were never seen again, with one accepted theory being that they drowned in San Francisco Bay. His TVA abduction here provides an in-universe explanation for his disappearance.

Trivia: Tara Strong, who voices Miss Minutes, had previously voiced numerous other Marvel characters in various animated shows, such as X-Men, Wolverine and the X-Men, and Ultimate Spider-Man.

The Variant - S1-E2

Trivia: After Sylvie activates the reset charges in the store, some of the places that show up on the TVA's monitors are planets visited throughout various MCU films, including Sakaar, Niflheim, Hala, Xandar, Vormir, Titan and Ego.

Trivia: SPOILER: Some fans of the show correctly theorized that Kang would be the man behind the TVA, as one of the Timekeepers in Miss Minutes' animated presentation in the first episode bears a strong resemblance to Kang actor Jonathan Majors, who was confirmed to be playing the character in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania several months before Loki debuted on Disney+.

Trivia: Frog Thor, aka Throg, has a brief appearance in this episode, trapped inside a jar and trying to retrieve Mjolnir. Director Kate Herron revealed that Chris Hemsworth actually provided the sound of Throg struggling to retrieve his hammer.

Trivia: When the camera is panning through the ruined city in The Void, the Avengers tower is visible, with "Qeng" displayed on the side of the building, a clue to Kang being the man controlling the TVA. (00:02:59)

Trivia: At one point in this episode, Mobius mentions that the TVA has interrogated vampires. While this may seem like an innocuous line, it may be a subtle way for Marvel to plant the seeds of Blade's forthcoming MCU debut.
