Continuity mistake: As they all prepare to leave the house part of Melanie's bloody dress sticks right up towards her chin, but when Mitch and Lydia swing her around towards the car it's not sticking up anymore. (01:56:10)

Continuity mistake: As Lydia runs into the house after arriving back home from the scene at Mr. Faucets house there's a brown shade at the top on the window to her right. Earlier after the party as she opens the curtain and looks outside from the dining room, the window has a drape and a curtain and no brown shade. (01:01:40)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie, Mitch and Cathy walk to her car, after finding Annie dead, watch the rungs of the steering wheel. As they get into the car it's been turned to the left between shots and Mitch hasn't touched it. (01:33:05)

Continuity mistake: The pet shop cashier changes positions between shots as Melanie approaches her. At first she has her back to the cash register, then it's at her right side. (00:02:30)

Continuity mistake: In the pet shop before Melanie writes down Mitch's license number, an ashtray is right next to the phone. She never touches it but the next time we see it, it's behind the phone. (00:08:05)

Continuity mistake: The blonde girl in the red with the red bows in her hair has a crow on her head that suddenly jumps to her right shoulder between shots. (01:13:45)

Continuity mistake: The napkin that Cathy has under her plate changes position and becomes more spread out between shots as the birds fly out of the fireplace. (00:54:35)

Continuity mistake: The shot of Mitch's house across the bay that the store manager shows Melanie is a matte drawing and doesn't look anything like the house we eventually see (no tall structure behind it, no long road that Mitch uses to meet Melanie on the other side of the bay, and no low treeless hills behind the barn). Continuity mistake: As Lydia carries the birthday cake out, the shades of the window behind her are open. When we see this window again a few seconds later as she runs into the house the shades are closed. (00:51:55)

Continuity mistake: The fourth shot of Melanie's legs in the room with the birds shows ripped stockings around her ankles looking like cob webs. The next time we see her feet, the stockings are intact. (01:48:15)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie and Mitch look at Annie's body more time elapses then we are led to believe. There's a car parked on the road directly behind them and there are no cuts in the time line of the movie, but ten seconds later we see that spot again and the car is gone. (01:30:25)

Continuity mistake: As Mitch throws logs onto the fire we see the couch behind him and no one is there. In the next shot Melanie appears sitting on the pillows on the edge of the couch. (01:41:05)

Audio problem: As the cameraman moves in on Mitch and the birds in the kitchen, listen very closely and you can hear his wheels squeaking on the floor. (01:38:00)

Continuity mistake: When Melanie Says, "There we are, love birds" there are no shadows on the edge of the cage near her face. The next time we see this spot the lighting has been changed so that you can see the shadow on the edge of the cage. (00:04:45)

Continuity mistake: As everyone runs out of the restaurant, the bushes on the left of the building that were there before are gone. (01:26:10)

Revealing mistake: In two of the shots inside the cream colored car right after Melanie blows the horn either wires or a visual artifact from the superimposing process distinctly appear outside of the rear right window. (01:15:20)
