Continuity mistake: As Melanie runs inside the phone booth a black device has appeared above the telephone. In a previous shot as Mitch runs to help the gas station attendant we see inside the phone booth and that device is not there. (01:26:15)

Continuity mistake: When Mitch puts the mirror up against the front door the light fixture above his head goes from being perfectly still to swaying wildly between shots and he didn't touch it. (01:43:35)

Continuity mistake: As Mitch lifts Annie's body to take her inside the house two black rags or shreds of her clothing appear on the porch that weren't there in a previous shot. (01:31:45)

Continuity mistake: In the shot of the party looking down from the top of the hill the barbecue is sitting behind and to the middle of two lounge chairs. In the next shot the barbecue is to the left of the two lounge chairs. At the end of the scene it's moved back. (00:51:35)

Continuity mistake: Just before the lights blowout Mitch comes back into living room and there is a red ottoman to the right of the green chair that Lydia and Cathy are sitting in. A few moments before, all three of them just walked through that spot when they were hiding by the bookcase and it wasn't there. (01:44:05)

Continuity mistake: As the birds start flying around the room Lydia gets up and the green pillow behind her is on the left and the red pillow is on the right. When Mitch overturns the table the red is on the left and the green on the right. (00:54:50)

Continuity mistake: Walking up the hill both sides of Melanie's collar are turned up by the wind. In the next shot at the top of the hill her collar is turned down. (00:48:10)

Continuity mistake: In her room Melanie walks past a mirror that shows a reflection of the blanket on her bed. After she looks out the window at the pick-up truck she walks back and the lighting on the bed is turned off and the reflection is now dark. But if you look closely it's not dark enough to tell the bed has now been made up. (00:58:20)

Continuity mistake: When Melanie looks out the window to see the gas station attendant attacked by the birds the coat hanger that was there earlier in the scene, next to the window, is gone. (01:24:30)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie pulls up to Mitch's dock a piece of rope tied to the post extends above the middle of the yellow buoy. In the next shot it's not there. (00:21:35)

Continuity mistake: As Mitch starts to run out of the restaurant the angle of the drapes to the left of the old drunk at the bar changes between shots. At first it's spread out more at the bottom, then up close it hangs straight down. (01:24:40)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie runs into the phone booth from the restaurant the four poles that were around it when Mitch walks her to the restaurant after the gull attack have disappeared. (01:26:10)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie returns to Annie's house the sun is shining brightly overhead and not casting any shadows onto the front door. In the next shot as she rings the doorbell there are two distinct shadows of her on the house, one to her left and one to her right. (00:31:05)

Continuity mistake: There are two different perspectives when Mitch puts the peroxide on Melanie's cut. The first is the close-up of her face and there's no blood on the piece of cotton. The second is the close-up of him and in these shots there's plenty of blood on the cotton, and they keep switching between the shots. (00:27:35)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie talks to Mitch the stack of magazines on the desk are straightened up and moved to the right between shots. When we first see them as Annie sits behind the desk smoking her cigarette they're not stacked evenly. (00:45:45)

Continuity mistake: As she attempts to get the bird out of the cage for Mitch, Melanie places the pencil over her ear and a lock of her hair drapes over it. Then when she says to Mitch, "What did you say?" the pencil is now pushed into her hair but she never went near it. (00:05:45 - 00:06:25)
