Continuity mistake: At first the Tin Man starts chopping the top part of the Witch's door with his ax and two shots later he's chopping about two feet lower, near the handle. If you look closely when he eventually gets the door open, the top part has not been touched. (01:23:40)

Continuity mistake: The Tin Man holds on to the Lion's tail as he reaches the top of the mountain. In the next shot he says, "I hope my strength holds out" and he's back on the side of the mountain. (01:20:00)

Continuity mistake: When the Tin Man is levitated and falls to the ground the metal covering his left leg is crumpled up. When we see him again from behind as the flying monkeys attack, the metal covering his leg has never been bent. The metal on his lower back has also been repaired since the fall. Continuity mistake: After the Wicked Witch turns the hourglass over and leaves, Dorothy walks back towards her throne. If you look closely the book of spells, which has not been touched, is open to an entirely different page then when we saw it earlier in the scene. (01:18:15)

Continuity mistake: At the start of the "lions and tigers and bears, oh my" sequence, Dorothy, the Scarecrow and Tin Man are all standing separately, then the shot cuts and they're suddenly arm in arm. (00:48:45)

Continuity mistake: When they emerge from the woods before looking at the Emerald City, Toto runs up and stands on a rock with no tree anywhere near it. In the next shot from behind, a tree appears next to the rock. (00:54:35)

Continuity mistake: As the Tin Man crowns the Cowardly Lion watch closely as he flings his ax behind him and it falls off the edge of stage. Two shots later its back again resting on the steps. (01:06:00)

Continuity mistake: As the Wicked Witch throws her hour glass at them we see behind her as she stands on the balcony, and her broomstick is definitely not anywhere near her. As she runs down the stairs, it's in her hand. (01:24:45)

Continuity mistake: After the Wicked Witch turns the hourglass over and leaves, Dorothy is crying and has wet spots on her dress from the tears. In the next shot her dress is dry. (01:18:05)

Continuity mistake: The Tin Man starts chopping the Witch's door and it's not the same one we just saw three shots before. The wood is a different color and the dark metal brace has been polished in the close-up. (01:23:40)
