The World is Not Enough mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Just after Bond's BMW is sawn in half by the chopper, he says "Q's not gonna like this." In the close-up of him saying this, his hands (holding a gun) are not held up in front of his face. In the very next shot, viewed from behind, his hands are held high up and pointing towards the helicopter overhead. (01:32:02)

Continuity mistake: When Bond is finishing up copying the documents in Gumbold's office, with Gumbold about to return via the elevator, a clock tower is shown at 13:59. Without the shot changing, the hands immediately move to 14:00, but some pigeons nesting on a ledge below abruptly change position. (00:42:58)

DEvans

Factual error: At the start, when the two L-39 'Albatros' jet aircraft are approaching head-on towards each other on the runway, Bond throttles his engine to afterburner. The real L-39 is a subsonic aircraft and does not have an afterburner. (00:07:26)

Octopussy (1983)

Octopussy mistake picture

Revealing mistake: Near the end, When Bond is hanging onto the outside of Kamal's plane (first on the roof, then on the side), we see two instances of Roger Moore's stunt double. (02:04:13 - 02:05:10)

Question: In the Extended Edition, John Connor is depicted as a senator whilst Sarah observes happily nearby. After all the deadly shootouts and chases, how did two of the most wanted individuals in the whole country (based on sheer destruction, especially against police) manage to get off free, and even get involved in politics? Sarah would've surely gone back to the secure hospital, and John put back into foster care. Or did they somehow convince everyone the Terminator existed after all?

DEvans

Answer: These questions and more are the reason the ending was changed to one where the future is left uncertain.

Goldeneye (1995)

Character mistake: When Boris teases Natalya about not telling her the password to his spike program, she glances down at the keyboard as he types the mystery password ("chair") and should've been able to make it out, given her level of programming expertise. (00:30:26)

Question: The Connors and Dyson go to great lengths to make sure the original T-800's chip and severed arm are destroyed so that it can never be rebuilt by CyberDyne. However, the "good" T-800's arm was also severed and left inside the heavy cog machinery during the fight against the T-1000 at the steel mill. Surely this leaves a plot hole, in that someone could retrieve THIS arm and still use the technology to recreate the T-800 one day? (albeit without the chip).

DEvans

Answer: The chip was the main reason they could replicate the technology, the arm an added bonus. The first arm was intact too, this one is crushed, probably beyond recognition. When the factory gets remodeled, they will probably simply break it all out of the machinery and throw it away without knowing what it is.

lionhead

Answer: From a real world perspective, the film was pretty long with a dense plot. Besides a lot of changes occurring, a lot was left out and the decision to show what Sarah and John ultimately did to the crushed arm may have just been left out. However, in Randall Frakes' novelization of the film, it mentions that John remembers the crushed arm and retrieves it and throws it in. As an audience, it seems we are to assume it being crushed was the same as it being destroyed.

Airport (1970)

Continuity mistake: When arguing about the expansion of the airport with Ackerman, Mel steps behind a display model of the airport layout. We see him standing in one position for several seconds, but in the next shot his arms are positioned completely differently, and he is standing in a slightly different spot. (00:45:15)

Driven (2001)

Factual error: It is heavily raining during the German race, but the track has many banked sections. In that particular era (late 1990s/early 2000s), CART never allowed wet weather racing to take place on banked tracks. (01:11:15)

Rocky Balboa (2006)

Factual error: The three scorecards of 95-94 for the Dixon vs Balboa fight could not possibly be scored that way for a ten-round professional fight in which so many knockdowns occurred. Each fighter went down multiple times, which would've resulted in a much lower set of numbers using the ten-point-must system enforced in Nevada (and pretty much everywhere else). (01:30:25)

DEvans

Factual error: When Harry and Marv arrive for the first time at Kevin's "funhouse", they look up to the roof and spot Kevin taking a Polaroid of them. The flash brightly illuminates them both, but the building looks to be at least 30 feet high; a basic Polaroid camera does not have a flash strong enough to reach such a distance (plus the street is already illuminated by lamps and Christmas lights). (01:23:05)

Question: When Bond ejects the guy, strangling him into the underside of the jet flying above, why exactly does the latter jet end up exploding?

DEvans

Chosen answer: According to the script, the other jet is hit by the two heat-seeking missiles it had previously fired, although that's not very clear in the film and it looks like it explodes when hit by the co-pilot.
