Plot hole: After losing his soul, Angelus kills Jenny Calender's uncle, who is a descendant of the gypsy clan who cursed him. But, since there is nothing to suggest the uncle's room is in a public location, Angelus couldn't have gotten in the room without an invitation.

Question: Was the process in which a vampire sires a human borrowed from Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula? Having seen that film recently, I noticed that, when Dracula sires Mina, the process was the same. Or was it taken from vampire mythology?

Trivia: The Columbine school massacre happened about a week before the episode was originally supposed to air. Since the episode dealt with a potential school shooting, the producers felt it was respectful and necessary to postpone the episode's airdate. Coincidentally, a similar event later happened to David Boreanaz when the Bones episode "Player Under Pressure" was postponed following the Virginia Tech massacre.

Question: In one scene, Giles reminds Buffy that, when Angel lost his soul, he tortured Giles for pleasure. Since it is established that Angel and Angelus are separate identities, shouldn't Giles know that, technically, it was Angelus who tortured him, not Angel?
Chosen answer: Yes, and he does, but when you've been tortured by somebody, the technical niceties of different personalities tend to lose their importance. The two look exactly the same, plus Giles is well-aware that Angelus is the 'real' personality, with "Angel" only really being a magically empowered construct due to the curse that restored his soul. Giles is not going to want Angel around, whichever personality happens to be in control.

Trivia: While planning the Angelus arc near the end of the season, Joss Whedon was unsure if David Boreanaz could pull off the character's personality. Boreanaz's interpretation was so good, he ended up completely creeping out Whedon.

Plot hole: In the flashback to Buffy in L.A., how did Angel get there with the front windshield of his car blacked out? Being a vampire, he obviously needs it during the day, but he also wouldn't be able to see traffic. And it just seems to be too much of hassle for him to remove it at sunset, just to reapply it at sunrise, just to remove it again, etc.

Question: In one scene, Spike tells Riley that he personally knows Dracula. While I know it's possible Spike is lying, I'm curious: if it's true, does Dracula know Angel, as well?
Chosen answer: In the TV series, the answer is anything you want it to be since Dracula never appeared again. But, in 2006 (that's 6 years after the episode was broadcast) a serial comic book was released 'Spike vs Dracula' and Angel does indeed know Dracula. But, again, this isn't the TV show, it's a comic book based on the TV show. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_vs_Dracula_(Angel_comic)

Trivia: Before production began, an idea popped up that Buffy would be able to identify a vampire solely by their outdated clothes. While this idea was eventually abandoned, it was toyed with in "Welcome to the Hellmouth" when Buffy sees Willow talking to a vampire in 70s-style dress with his sleeves rolled up and his collar upturned.
