Revealing mistake: In the scene where Sgt Howie hits McGregor (who is dressed as Punch) with a candlestick, watch closely and you can see that the blow from Howie is aimed into the padded section on the back of the punch costume, rather than at the back of McGregor's head.

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Indy and Marcus are with the Army intelligence agents, watch the agent who is wearing the light blue suit - at the moment when Marcus refers to a secret chamber, the agent in the blue suit has his right hand resting on top the chair that he is sitting on, but in the next shot when he replies "secret chamber" his right hand is now on his face. Continuity mistake: When Ben, Tom and Judy are trying to escape from the zombies in the truck, it is dark, but when the zombies are giving chase, dawn is breaking, and when the truck gets to the gas pump it is now dark once more. This is just one of a number of scenes in this film that change from darkness to daylight and vice-versa.

Continuity mistake: During the finale where Mary is being chased out of the pavilion and onto the beach by the ghoulish figures, she is wearing shoes (white) but when she is out on the sand and falls down she is barefoot. Presumably it was difficult for the actress who plays Mary (Candace Hilligoss) to run on the sand wearing high heels, so therefore it was easier to run on the sand barefoot.

Continuity mistake: As Mary begins to reverse her car out of the garage (filmed from the front of the car) you can see that there is nothing hanging up in the back of the car, but when the car gets outside the garage (filmed from the side) there is now a coat hanging up in the back of the car.

Continuity mistake: When Norman is parking Marion's car, he does so by reversing with right hand lock. But when he drives off, he does so with left hand lock without having turned the steering wheel.

Continuity mistake: Ben finds a shotgun and a pair of ladies' shoes in one of the cupboards, he puts the shoes onto Barbara's feet and then he leaves the room, as the next shot cuts in Barbara is sitting on the sofa in her stocking feet, and the shoes are nowhere to be seen.

Other mistake: A few minutes after Tom and Judy have been killed in the truck and their bodies burned by the fire, the zombies begin to eat some of the body parts. One of the zombies can be seen with a human hand that appears to be neatly severed and unaffected by the fire, surely the hand would have been so badly burned by the fire beyond all recognition.

Continuity mistake: When Mary takes her car to the garage the mechanic raises the car up on the ramp to the height of six feet approximately, with Mary still sitting inside the car. She then has one of her nightmares, when she wakes up in a state of panic a few minutes later, the ramp is now level with the floor and she is able to drive the car straight out of the garage.

Continuity mistake: Another example of Mary's shoes changing colour, is when she meets the minister and sees the church organ for the first time, she is wearing black shoes, a few minutes later they go for a drive to the old pavilion: When Mary gets out the car she is now wearing a pair of white shoes.

Continuity mistake: When Indy is chasing after the truck on horseback, he jumps off the horse and onto the truck, as he does this the horse begins to slow down and fall behind, but as Indy throws the German soldier in the passenger seat out of the truck the horse has disappeared, it could not have been hidden from view behind the truck, because the horse's shadow would have been visible. Continuity mistake: While Indy is fighting the German who is driving the truck, you can see that the German has got blood on his left hand, but when he throws Indy through the windscreen his left hand is clean and there is no blood on it. (01:27:10)

Continuity mistake: While Sgt Howie is at the chemist shop he shows Lennox (who is mixing something with a mortar and pestle) a photo of the missing girl, notice how in between shots the photo goes from Howie's hand into Lennox's hand, without having been handed over.
