Revealing mistake: When Doc flies the DeLorean up and the wheels get stuck to a banner string, the close-ups of Doc show a lit cockpit, but the shots from the outside show it's dark and one can't really see who's at the wheel. However, for a couple of seconds you get to see it's not Doc but a stunt double or a stiff dummy. (01:23:25)

Continuity mistake: After Jen is taken to her home in the future, Marty and Doc are in the car. Doc places his left hand over his glasses, but when the shot changes he's got his pinky finger raised.

Other mistake: Griff enters Cafe 80s and tells Grandpa to wax the car. Grandpa stands up and walks to the door, but Griff keeps looking at where he was standing before. This was due to the VistaGlide system of filming an empty space without stunts that could serve as cues as to where to look at.

Continuity mistake: When Marty reads the paper with the news about his son's arrest, the way he holds the paper differs between shots. (00:09:44)

Continuity mistake: In the Café 80's, when Griff is about to bat Marty, a woman in a blue dress passes behind Marty twice. She is also seen walking around in the next scenes that take place outside.

Continuity mistake: When Gramps is knocking Marty with his cane, right after he cries "Mr. Loooseer.", he puts his cane in his right hand, but a split second later it's seen in his left hand. (00:14:09)

Continuity mistake: When Marty gets out of the water after jumping from the hoover board, the board is a bit far from him. In the next shot it is right next to him, to help him pick it up and leave.

Continuity mistake: When Marty is in the Café 80's, there are two men talking outside on the street. Shot changes and when we go back to Marty, a second later, the two men have vanished.
