Revealing mistake: When Neville opens his 'Monster Book of Monsters' he falls to the ground. Then he is lying on the ground and his book is attacking him again. We can see the pieces of pre-cut papers, that should be coming out of the book's mouth, actually come up from the ground, when Neville is holding the book above him. Obviously it's not real. Continuity mistake: When Aunt Marge is blowing up, one of her buttons pops off and hits Dudley in his forehead making him fall to the floor. We see him lying on the floor beside the table but when it cuts he is suddenly getting up right at the table. (00:04:55)

Continuity mistake: When the ghost comes through the window on his horse we see him riding into the hall before the headless ghost comes through the window and pursues the first ghost. Then it cuts from inside the hall and we see the first ghost come through the door again. By this time it should be the second ghost coming through the door, not the first. (00:37:15)

Audio problem: When Aunt Marge says, "Vernon, Vernon do something." and the dog charges at Vernon and bites him in his leg, you can hear Vernon scream in pain. At the same time you can see his lips move as he says something, but all we hear is screaming. (00:04:35)
