Saving Mr. Banks (2013)
Question: When Mrs. Travers arrives at her hotel there are two pieces of luggage that she picks up and takes in the room herself, when she leaves she has those two pieces plus a large suitcase. Where did it come from?
Answer: The large suitcase was most likely carrying the large Mickey mouse doll that she decided to keep. The size alone would require an extra case.

Riddick (2013)
Question: How did Riddick know the rain would bring the monsters?
Answer: Earlier in the film when he arrived at the base, he could see the monsters from a distance when the rain came in. That's how he knew.
Answer: Earlier in the movie, they show a pack of the dog-like creatures growling at the creatures in the water. When the rain is visible, his pet starts to growl towards that direction.

I'm looking for the title of a movie. I watched it as a kid, on TV, sometime in the 90's. It was based on a mom and her two daughters. The youngest daughter was really into swimming. She walked around with a swimming cap on. I want to say the mom drank a lot, but I don't remember that for sure. I believe the mom went out with a guy that her oldest daughter had a crush on. The older daughter leaves one night with her younger sister, to meet a guy. Possibly the same guy. The younger daughter almost drowns in the river while her sister is up in a tower with the guy. I don't believe the little girl dies. That's about all I can remember. Kind of vague, but I hope someone can help! Thanks!
Chosen answer: The movie is Mermaids (1990). It starred Cher, Winona Ryder and Christina Ricci.

Question: Why does Leonard Nimoy have a brown piece of leather on the back of one of his hands?
Answer: On the DVD commentary, Director Phillip Kaufman explained that the leather on Nimoy's hand was the actor's idea and simply showed how kooky the character was. Fits the character well really.

My Sister, Benedict Arnold - S3-E5
Question: In this episode Marcia dates Greg's rival Warren Mulany. I noticed in the credits the actor's name was Gary Rist, is he related to Robbie Rist who played Oliver?
Answer: Robbie Rist told me personally they are not related at all.
Chosen answer: Since Robbie Rist has no brothers, the answer would have to be no.
How about cousins with their fathers being brothers? I'd have to say... May be related? Yep.

Blue Thunder (1983)
Question: Just a question and an observation: When does Lymangood find out what JAFO means? He didn't know when he got into Blue Thunder for the first (and last) time: "When are you going to tell me what JAFO means?" 1. They find out about the evil plot. 2. Lymangood gets the tape after they land. 3. He leaves a recording for Frank inside Blue Thunder using "Big Brother", the cabin recorder. 4. He drops the tape off at a drive-in movie dumpster. 5. He calls and leave a voice-mail for Murphy. 6. He goes home and is attacked. So when was he told what JAFO means? Also, someone had a sense of humor about naming the Special helicopter. It was to be used in project THOR (Tactical Helicopter Offensive Response, the "proposed use of military helicopters to quell disorder"). Thor is the god of thunder in Norse mythology. Did they name the helicopter Blue "Thunder" because it was going to be used in Project THOR? It would have been nice to connect the two references in the movie.
Chosen answer: There was plenty of time from Lymangood asks what Jafo means to when he gets killed. For all we know it could have been weeks. It was only a simply question really. As for any connection between blue thunder and Thor, it could have been an in-joke, but only the filmmakers really know.

I am trying to remember the name of a movie released in the 80's and maybe early 90's where the main actor wakes up in the morning and does not recall what happened the night. The setting was in Los Angeles (the Valley maybe). Anyone can help?
Answer: It could be Clean Slate (1994) with Dana Carvey.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Question: This question pertains to all the films, particularly the extended edition of this film. It might seem odd to ask, but how exactly does Saruman get on top of the Orthanc? We see him there in FOTR a couple times then in ROTK (extended). Also, in ROTK extended when Gandalf and co are talking to him, the Orthanc is a tall structure so how can they all hear each other so well?
Answer: For the first question, the most likely answer is there must have been some kind of staircase that lead up there although the exit wasn't clearly visible. Remember that grima wormtongue had no trouble getting up there in the extended edition. For the second question, since Saruman is a wizard, he is clearly able to project his voice down to them and have no trouble hearing them.

Okay it is a 70's-80's movie. I don't now how it starts, but the story leads to two girls kidnapping a older guy and holding him hostage in a house and making him their "sex slave". If I remember correctly, one of them says something like this "I want to check, it is possible f*ck a men to a death?" I also recall him speaking at the end - something like "more, more". IT WASN'T A PORN MOVIE. I watched it on normal TV. Anybody know the title?
Chosen answer: The Beguiled, or maybe "Three in the Attic," with Christopher Jones (Jesse James and Ryan's Daughter) and Yvette Mimeux.

The Town (2010)
Question: Toward the end of the movie, one of the gang members visits a barber shop and picks up a small bag of cut hair swept from the floor. I cannot remember any follow-up to this scene showing how or where this cut hair was used. I have asked several people who have seen the movie and no one seems to know what happened to this hair. Was there any follow-up to this scene or did I blink and miss the part that shows what they did with it?
Answer: The bag of hair from the barbershop was used to throw off the police when they search the getaway car later. In other words they will find all the scattered hair and have the wrong DNA. This is what they do after the second heist. They never used one at the end since the cops already knew who they were.

I saw this movie in the 80s, but can't remember any of the actors' names or the title. It is about a bunch of criminals, like drug dealers, car thieves and stuff that get caught, sent to jail and then instead of going to prison they get sent to this island, where they have to survive, work together and eventually go back home to LA, I think.
Answer: Sounds a lot like Band of the Hand (1986).

I am trying to find a movie I saw in the late 70 's to early 80's that was a Nazi Germany-U.S. war movie where the U.S. took over a German town that had an area fenced off by the Germans that had a cave or pyramid in the middle that had a monster or evil force of some kind in it and would kill people that went in. It was in colour and was well made, not a B movie.
Answer: This film is called The Keep. It was directed by Michael Mann and released in 1983.

Question: How come Wade has to take out all those guards, and why not his teammates? Agent Zero, Wolverine, Sabretooth, Wraith, and the big guy can easily take them out as they are powerful mutants.
Chosen answer: Stryker simply knew that they were all eager to show their skills and knew that wade wouldn't have any trouble doing it. He wanted to see how good his team was and this was a good way. Anyhow given how eager Wade was, he probably let him just to shut him up.

Groundhog Day (1993)
Question: When Phil and the two locals are driving on the railroad tracks, they are closely followed by a police unit. Phil drives off the tracks at a crossing where the tracks became level with the street surface. How did the police car get out from in front of the train?
Answer: We know the police car survived because unit 2 is the car that followed them onto the tracks, and unit 2 is also one of the cars present when they are stopped (though it came from the wrong direction). The movie doesn't explain how the car survived so it is left to the viewer's imagination.
Chosen answer: It was never explained in the film but there could be two possible explanations. One is the police car never got off the tracks in time and was hit by the train. Another is the car managed to get off the tracks in time despite the difficulty of getting off a railroad track so quickly. Up to the viewer to decide.

Answer: It was a tracking device which gave away their location. Since they couldn't remove it, they decided to kill him as he was now a liability.
Gavin Jackson
They killed him because he betrayed them.
How was Daryl forced to swallow it? Did they manage to apprehend him and force it down his throat, or was it something else entirely?
