Character mistake: In Pitch Black they established the system they crashed in (M-344/G) had 3 stars. Jack stated it when the 2nd sunrise started, and the solar system model also had 3 stars. In this film when Boss Johns starts asking about M-344/G he says it is "a backwater system with 2 suns and 1 habitable planet."
Riddick (2013)
Directed by: David Twohy
Starring: Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff
Other mistake: The trip back on foot from the nodes for Johns was way too fast, and he likely would not have had enough ammo to handle the entire trip back. From Riddick's perspective, John's left, he cauterized his wounds with some explosive debris, fought several creatures and then ascended the hill continuing to fight creatures. By the time he hit the top of the hill, Johns had made the entire trip on foot, which was long by bike, had Dahl join him, locked in the node, and piloted the ship back to Riddick.
Other mistake: In the scene where Riddick, Johns, and the bad goatee-dude go on the "bikes" to get the missing engine parts (nodes), they travel quite a distance (about two minutes of movie time). After the "bikes' get shot up and are no longer usable, it's not that far at all for Johns to get back. In fact it's just a few steps, and monster free too. (01:03:00 - 01:07:00)
Riddick: You're not afraid of the dark, are you?
Riddick: One down... Three down. You see where I'm going with this?
Question: As the rain comes and the creatures come out and start to damage the station and kill people, why did the entire crew not seek refuge in their ships? Obviously, if the ships were meant for the harshness of space travel and some offensive/defensive capabilities, wouldn't they most likely have provided enough protection from the organic weapons of the creatures? It would make the plot not work but maybe should have been eliminated as a possibility.
Answer: The walls of the settlement are likely to be just as strong as the hulls of the spacecraft. It's likely they are even stronger because the settlement doesn't have to worry about weight limits. Remember also that they had to worry about Riddick hiding and getting the units back.
Question: Who was Santana's prisoner and why did she not want to be unshackled?
Answer: Santana's prisoner was played by R&B singer Keri Hilson. Being unshackled and molested by all those men was probably the reason why.
Question: How did Riddick know the rain would bring the monsters?
Answer: Earlier in the film when he arrived at the base, he could see the monsters from a distance when the rain came in. That's how he knew.
Answer: Earlier in the movie, they show a pack of the dog-like creatures growling at the creatures in the water. When the rain is visible, his pet starts to growl towards that direction.

Suggested correction: We're just not shown the remainder of his trip back to the base.

Riddick cauterized his wound, fought off some creatures and made his way up a large hill. In that short period of time, Johns walks back the distance that took 2 minutes by bike, installs a node, gets Dahl, starts up the ship and flies back to Riddick. The original entry is valid.
