Factual error: When Xander's thugs are taking the Phantom up to the roof to do away with him, he breaks away and ducks into the machinery room for the elevator. In the scene the door of the room is lockable from the inside only. This door should be lockable from only the outside.
The Phantom (1996)
Directed by: Simon Wincer
Starring: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Billy Zane, Treat Williams, Kristy Swanson
Audio problem: When policemen are pursuing the Phantom in the park, their motorcycle tyres makes sounds and sparkles on the ground as if it was asphalt, but it's dirt.
Factual error: When the policemen are shooting at the Phantom in the park, bullets make little explosions when they hit the trees, as if it was metal.
Trivia: The film was originally written as a bit of a comedic spoof of superhero and adventure stories by "Gremlins" director Joe Dante and famed screenwriter Jeffrey Boam. Dante was planning on directing it. However, the movie was paused due to budget concerns, and Dante left the project. When it was put back into production, the script was re-written by several ghost writers, and director Simon Wincer decided to play the comedy 100% straight, which original director Dante felt was a huge mistake.
Trivia: Co-stars James Remar and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa were both in the "Mortal Kombat" film franchise. Tagawa played the lead villain "Shang Tsung" in 1995's "Mortal Kombat," which came out a year before "The Phantom." And Remar played Lord Raiden, one of the lead heroes, in "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation," which came out one year after "The Phantom" in 1997.
Trivia: Billy Zane was a fan of the character and took the film very seriously. He spent a year working out and doing weight training to build muscle mass, so he wouldn't have to wear a fake muscle suit. He'd also leave set in full costume and drive around, get lunch, etc.
Xander Drax: Quill, would you please show Mr. Walker up to the observation deck and make him talk?
Sala: I claim the body when you're done.
The Great Kabai Sengh: You're not immortal. I know your secrets, Phantom.
The Phantom: Take them to your grave, Kabai Sengh.
Phantom's Dad: Hey, Kit. I like her.
The Phantom: Thanks, Dad.
Question: If Diana was able to recognize Kit even after years of not seeing him then how come she didn't notice he has the same voice as the Phantom, whom she had just been with the day before? He doesn't try to disguise his voice in any way.
Question: What exactly caused the volcano to explode at the end? It didn't seem active at all and it just decided to blow after Phantom and Diana escaped the pirates.
Chosen answer: The explosions from the skulls and the weapons on the island caused the volcano to erupt.
Question: What kind of police motorcycles were used in the movie?
Chosen answer: Two were used. A 1936 Harley Davidson knucklehead, and mid to late 40's Indian Chiefs.

Answer: She was preoccupied trying to escape from the bad guys and annoyed that a guy in a purple suit, was trying to save her, when she said, "I can do it myself." It was most likely later, in New York, when the met face to face. Kit and Diana, when she put two and two together. Again was too preoccupied trying to save the world to pause and confront him.
