Continuity mistake: During the scene in Mrs. Garrett's bedroom the flowers in the vase keep changing position.
The Facts of Life (1979)
Starring: Mindy Cohn, Nancy McKeon, Kim Fields, Lisa Whelchel
Genres: Comedy
Visible crew/equipment: Tootie and Arnold walk into the room where Blair and Jo are. The shadow of the boom mic is visible on the wall.
Cousin Geri - S2-E5
Continuity mistake: Blair is talking on the phone to her mom. Tootie is listening pretending to wash the wall - her hand is raised. Blair says "Will you knock it off." The shot changes and Tootie's hand is now by her side.
Blair Warner: I don't go to wing-dings, I go to cotillions.
Jo Polniaczek: Well if that is a dance at the Hillcrest Country Club, then your cotillion and my wing-ding are the same thing.
Jo Polniaczek: There are people who in this world get shoved around and there are people who do the shoving.
Blair Warner: I just had another one of my brilliant ideas.
Starstruck - S3-E15
Question: When Tootie goes inside Jermaine's dressing room why did the bodyguard roughly manhandle Tootie and why was her bust of Jermaine destroyed?
Answer: Tootie was among the fan club girls sent complimentary concert tickets and allowed backstage. She thought Jackson personally invited only her and barged into the dressing room, believing she was expected. Security took action, not knowing who she was. The paper-mache' bust was screened for safety, getting destroyed in the process.
Answer: The Bust was destroyed by the bodyguards, to them it's another piece of junk among the millions he receives from his "Number One Fan."
No, the guard said he'd been running it under the sink and 'nothing was going to explode now.' They were making sure it wasn't a bomb.
Shoplifting - S2-E6
Question: Jo, Blair, Natalie, and Tootie look for a birthday present for Mrs. Garrett. When they find a shirt for her, Jo decides to try it on. When she comes out of the dressing room to show it off, why did a security guard immediately walk up to them?
Answer: The dramatic reason is to move the plot along. But in real life, store workers can be suspicious of groups of teens because of the perceived higher risk of Shoplifting. So the security guard may have seen them go into the changing room and decided to see what they were up to.
Answer: To let them know one of the exits was blocked off and told them to use the other one. Oh and Blair wasn't with them - she bought her own gift for Mrs. Garrett.
Question: Tootie takes her driving test. The instructor tells Tootie to make a U-Turn and as she's halfway into it, the car stops. I think it was because the car ran out of gas. Because of this, Tootie fails the driving test. Why would the instructor fail Tootie? It wasn't her fault the car ran out of gas.
Answer: I didn't see that episode. When you take your driving test, you have to provide the car for the test, and the car has to be in good working condition. They check for that (blinkers working, etc.) So if the car runs out of gas, yes, it is your fault for not making sure the car had enough gas before the test.
Just saw the episode, and the car wasn't Tootie's. It belonged to the driving school.
You should watch the episode again because it didn't belong to a driving school. (She wasn't even in one). It was a hearse from Natalie's job at the funeral home.
Answer: Tootie didn't say she failed, just that she had to take the test twice because the instructor "wanted to make sure [she] belonged on the streets." It was even brought up that they maybe they should get gas and he said to go. So it wasn't about running out of gas, but all the distractions and antics that had occurred. Although it seems like an exaggerated line as a joke. Earlier she said you only get two chances (meaning to pass). If she had in fact failed this second time, it doesn't seem like the instructor would retest her right away. And if he did, why wouldn't she have been retested right away The First Time instead of having to schedule a 2nd test?

Answer: The guards had no idea if Tootie was a deranged fan or if she had a bomb in her package. This wasn't very long after John Lennon was shot, after all.
