Factual error: The caption says "twenty years later" before the main part of the movie starts. Now judging by the dates we've seen on-screen so far that would be in the reign of William and Mary, not Queen Anne.
Yellowbeard (1983)
Directed by: Mel Damski
Starring: Peter Boyle, Cheech Marin, Graham Chapman, Tommy Chong
Continuity mistake: On the beach, Commander Clement has his arm wrapped around Triola. The next shot has Clement just putting his arm around Triola.
Continuity mistake: When Yellowbeard and his pirates bust into Commander Clement's ship quarters, Mansell raises his hands in surrender twice.
Trivia: Tommy Chong couldn't do a Spanish accent, so while all the other Spanish characters imitate Spanish English, he just does a speech impediment instead. He admitted so himself in the 'making of'.
Trivia: Last film of Marty Feldman, who suffered a heart attack during filming. A body double for him was used in some scenes of the movie.
Trivia: This film was a bit of a reunion for the cast of "Young Frankenstein", as Kenneth Mars, Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, and Madeline Kahn were in it.
Harvey "Blind" Pew: It sounded as though there was a bit of a squabble.
Moon: Squabble? They're all dead.
Harvey "Blind" Pew: Oh! Must have been more of a tiff then.
Commander Clement: Twenty years ago today you were sentenced to jail.
Yellowbeard: Yes, and now I'm due to released.
Commander Clement: Yes. Or rather, no. You see, twenty years ago, no-one was expected to live in jail for twenty years.
Narrator: The pirate Yellowbeard captured many other galleons, killing over five-hundred men in cold blood. He would tear the captains hearts out and swallow them whole. Often forcing his victims to eat their own lips, he was caught and imprisoned... for tax evasion.
