Continuity mistake: In the opening shot at the breakfast table, there is a large cereal box and a carton of milk on the right side of the table, in front of two salt-n-pepper shakers. But during the scene it continues to swap to an angle behind the two shakers - but now the cereal box and milk carton have vanished, so as not to block the view for this angled shot. (00:12:30)
The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D (2005)
Directed by: Robert Rodriguez
Starring: David Arquette, Taylor Lautner, George Lopez, Kristin Davis, Cayden Boyd, Taylor Dooley
Continuity mistake: When Sharkboy and Lavagirl burst into the classroom looking for Max, there is writing on the blackboard ("Science, Chapter Two") written in yellow chalk. Strangely, later in the scene the writing is now written in white chalk, and the handwriting of the text is noticeably different. Then, later it goes back to yellow! (00:16:45 - 00:17:40)
Revealing mistake: When Lavagirl burns the diary, it goes up in flames. However, if you watch Max and Sharkboy, they look at an unseen object falling to the ground. The unseen object is the diary, taken out in editing. Later, Max looks back at the diary on the ground.
Trivia: This movie was actually based on Robert Rodriguez's 6-year-old son's idea.
Trivia: The music when they first fight Mr. Electric is the exact same as the music as the Mario bowser fight.
Sharkboy: Usually, if you snooze, you lose. With Max, you snooze, you win.
Lavagirl: Row row row your banana split boat, gently down the steam of consciousness, merrily merrily merrily, life is Max's dream.
Mr. Electricidad: OK, kids, who's next? Remember, there are no dumb ideas.
Linus: Maybe we can freeze his circuits.
Mr. Electricidad: That's the dumbest idea I've ever heard. We're in the middle of Texas in August.
Question: Does Sharkboy seem to have a problem with Max? I dunno if that's just a vibe I got from him or not.
Answer: According to Taylor Lautner, the actor who played Sharkboy, he approached the role as if Sharkboy was jealous of Max because Sharkboy has a crush on Lavagirl and she pays Max lots of attention.

Answer: Lava Girl is always hot to the touch. She can control when she throws magma, but the only way she can have any control over her actual body temperature is to control her emotions, which would naturally be difficult for someone her age. Even then, at her coolest possible temperature, her body temperature would still be very high. There are continuity issues with her body temperature throughout the film, ie, being able to sit on ice for extended periods of time without melting it, but the idea is she always has a very high body temperature.
