The Paper (1994)
Directed by: Ron Howard
Starring: Robert Duvall, Michael Keaton, Glenn Close, Marisa Tomei
Continuity mistake: During the scene with everyone in Henry Hackett's office (prior to the gunshot), the pad of paper that Carmen is holding jumps from one hand to the other and back again.
Continuity mistake: When Carmen and Wilder are arguing in Henry's office, Carmen's badge keeps flipping from front to back a couple times, without her touching it, sometimes between shots.
Trivia: Many of the extras on the film were actual NYC journalists (reporters, columnists, and editors). One was Donna Hanover, a former reporter who, at the time, was married to NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Michael McDougal: This is great! This is great! It writes like butter. I mean, there is actual butter coming out of my pen.
Carmen: You wanna cover Brooklyn, then cover Brooklyn! But let me tell you something, you can't cover Brooklyn from a barstool in Manhattan.
Henry: Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me.
