Continuity mistake: When Jake and Link are watching TV Jake is lying on top of the settee. Link says hi to Jake and the camera switches from Link to Frank. In the next shot Frank sits down and Jake is gone. He had no time to move.
The Cat from Outer Space (1978)
Directed by: Norman Tokar
Starring: Roddy McDowall, Harry Morgan, Ken Berry, Sandy Duncan
Continuity mistake: In the helicopter evacuation scene, Fred Berry hangs on to the skid, then Sandy Duncan climbs down and clings to his back. Berry lets go and they land in Jake's airplane cockpit, and suddenly she's in his lap. I have no idea how Duncan managed to maneuver herself in front of Berry during the drop, especially in such a short distance.
Factual error: Jake takes a huge piece of gold and condenses it down into a small strip. It is then lifted with no difficulty. For the science of the film to work, this would have to be done without losing any of the gold's mass, or they could just get a small piece. As of such, the condensed gold would be just as heavy, if not heavier than in its original form.
Trivia: Sandy Duncan has a fear of real cats, so fake cats had to be used when she handles Jake in the film.
Jake - voice: My name is Zunar J 5 Slash 9 Doric 4 7.
Frank: Uh, Z-Zunar.
Jake - voice: ...Let's just stick with 'Jake', okay?
Dr. Elizabeth 'Liz' Bartlett: But I don't have a parachute.
Mr. Charlie Olympus: Then you have a problem.
Mr. Stallwood: But I don't have a parachute either.
Mr. Charlie Olympus: Then you have the same problem.
