Continuity mistake: In the scene at the bar where Stuart and Donny are playing pool, Donny is aiming at the red 7 ball. However, when the camera shot switches to over Donny's shoulder he is lined up with the white cue ball and knocks the red seven in.
Stuart Saves His Family (1995)
Directed by: Harold Ramis
Starring: Vincent D'Onofrio, Laura San Giacomo, Al Franken, Shirley Knight
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Donnie is shot and in the hospital you can see a bandage on the right side of his stomach. Soon after the hospital scene you are taken to the therapist's office and the family is talking about sending the father off to the rehab center. But after a few minutes into the scene Donnie starts talking to the Doctor. When Donnie slides up the couch he is seen holding his left side. Which indicated the pain is on the opposite side of which the injury was.
Trivia: Comedian and currently liberal talk radio host Al Franken based the title character on the people he met during his own substance abuse treatment.
Stuart Smalley: Because what they say is true - it's easier to put on slippers than to carpet the whole world.
Dad Smalley: God, you'd drink too, if you had Liberace for a son.
